Guys,

My car is back on 14" tyres. Now running on 185/65-14 Apollo Aceleres. Ride quality is much much better compared to old 205/50-15
Handling is reasonable and nothing much to complain.
Steering is light and i am enjoying plush ride quality of getz now after 26K KM

What was the symptom ? or did they detect the damage while doing a regular service ?

Hey. Good on you. I am planning to go for the same size too after this current set has worn off. But that will some quite sometime as the A-drives arent showing much of a wear after its done around 18000 kms. Its just still new as before.

My dad heard the noise from the engine bay while driving and he guessed that it might be the belt and he was right. The service guys say it might have caused due to a small stone getting inside the belt pulley.

Stone ?
Is the engine base protection plate (plastic) missing in your car ?

I have a Getz Crdi as well which has run 25,000 kms. My alternator belt has broken twice now in 3 months. Last time around we only changes the belt, but this time after a more thorough check up at Kun Hyundai Chennai, they recommended we changed the bearing and the pulley as well (covered under the 2 year unlimited warranty). Its been almost a week since we put the car in the service centre and we're still waiting for parts.

The car is awesome, but I hope parts availability doesn't become an issue in future.

No. But after reading the Chromeboy post, seems stone maynot be the reason.

You better ask HMP. They should be having all the parts.

I got my car back yesterday. They only charged me for the belt Rs. 1470, all other parts and labour came under warranty. They even cleaned the interior of my car for free! These are the kind of things which make us want to stick to Hyundai.

Good to see an update from your side, I thought you had completely forgotten about the little monster after getting the big daddy crdi.

IMO, the below four things were not required and if avoided the bill would have been around 5.7k inclusive everything.
[*]Red Grease Caliper 35.55
[*]Engine Decarbonisation 1800
[*]Engine oil flush 337.77
[*]Wheel Balance Wt 213.33

BTW, they have put mineral gear oil. CRDIs come with synthetic gear oil.

Well.. i asked for decarbonisation ..they said it will be better for the diesel engine's life, but never thought it would cost 1800 . Dont know abt red grease caliper and oil flush.. Wheel balanced 10000kms before only.Wheel alignment centres in my local area are not good, so approached Hyundai .

Regarding the gear oil , will it pose any problem since they have put mineral oil ?

65600 km service

Regular Service done at 65600kms. Usual work like Engine oil , Diesel Filter , Air Filter , Oil Filter replaced. Total Service Cost with labour and taxes comes to Rs.5087.

SA suggestions:
1. Font suspension system is at the end of the life. Got to change soon before I make the tire change.
2. Clutch starting to wear off , 2nd gear is little tight to engage. May last for another 10000kms.
3. Tires may last 1500 kms .

Change of battery.
One of the cell in the OE battery- Exide has lost his life. Couldn't start the car at all. Had to push and start.
Called up hyundai to ask for new battery and they quoted Rs.9850. Old battery to be taken for Rs.200. Shocking price though.
Bought Tata Green batteries. Cost 5500. Old battery taken for 600. But, its 70ah battery. Getz specification is 68ah. They told the difference is minimum. So no problems.
SF SONIC batteries cost around 8000, old battery was supposed to be taken for 800 and they were 68ah.
BASE batteries costed less, but heard they were low in quality and warranty problem so ignored it.
Cannot fit in Amaron battery as the design of the battery is different.

Re: Getz Prime 1.5 CRDi - Bright Silver EDIT: 65600 kms update

Sourcing a replacement battery for Getz crdi that fits exactly as the OE battery is a pain. OE battery is available with Hyundai only and its mighty expensive.

The fuse box clamp is not hooking up with the battery terminal. Am i right ?
