Ownership Report - My new Scorpio VLX mHawk - 25,000 kms and counting

Here are the pics. Till now, the car is terrific. A detailed review will follow soon.
do note the revised air con vents in the 5th pic. many had complains that the older vents had problem in directing air properly. so mahindra has rectified it by providing vertical vents.

Great one Raj!

Congrats on the new ride.

Happy motoring! :-)

Can you share the discounts, OTR price and freebies that you got?

Very Nice - I love the Graphics at the rear ( I think its only exclusive to this model )

ICE installed already !! You probably added the Sub as basic HU & 4 speakers are included in this variant.

Looking forward to a detailed review.

Congrats Dude.

mHawk is a fine piece of machinery, but somehow I could never like that skewed gear shift.

Congrats, do keep us posted on the running. The rear graphics look good on the light colour.

Btw, which diesel are you using Premium or normal.

@ happywheels: the on-road price in mumbai is 11,68,800/-. initially they offered a discount of only 8000/- and some free accessories like carpet lamination and scuff plates. but we insisted that we dont want free accessories and instead give us a better discount. so they agreed on 10,000/-.
@ vkochar: as accessories, i was interested in only aftermarket chrome alloys and speakers, apart from the basics like window film and seat cover. but in the mHawk, you cant replace the alloys as the sensors of the tyretronics (tyre pressure monitoring system) are embedded in the current alloys.
for the ICE:
the head unit is nippon, its standard from mahindra with SD/USB/MP3/CD player with tuner. also, four kenwood speakers are standard (2 on the front door and two on the boot door.) i placed 2 additional sony 400 W speakers in the boot besides the subwoofer. the subwoofer is 1000 W (sony Xplod). the amplifier is again sony XM-ZR602.
although i am not pretty satisfied with the sony speakers and woofer, my dad had prohibited me from doing the installation from anywhere except the showroom. and the showroom offered me only sony.
yesterday i got the window film. next i plan to fit a european horn from ROOTS (also called the pressure horn).

thanks a lot. we normally use premium diesel in both our cars, so ditto for this one. and its preferrably from bharat petroleum or indian oil.

@ alpha: yes, i find the slanted gear lever a bit odd to look at. but the gear shift is precise and smooth.

thanks buddy. the cruise control is working fine. it gets activated only at speeds above 40 kmph and only in 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th gear. once set, the cruising speed can be increased or decreased with the + and - buttons on the steering. the "res coast" button is to go back to the initial cruising speed you had set. cruise control automatically gets deactivated if you press the throttle, brake or clutch.

1 thing which i found strange was, in the brochure they had shown a attractive looking red and green instrument cluster. but in my car, its just green dials!
