FE read out and crossing of another milestone. At this rate (and considering my balance months calendar) I would end up doing 60k in 12 months.

Off-thread

Any news on the rumours of the 2.4L upgrade of the engine, with the new lot of imports?

Mentioned that else where on this forum...Overall city FE is 9~95km/lt Highway 10.5km/lt aircon always on. Of course I surprised myself day before when 530 kms of highway returned FE @11.5

GC drive to Coonoor and back

sudev, to post an LT ownership experience that surpasses yours will be difficult considering the 50k report that you have already written. however allow me to wind the odo back to 6k for my report!

took the gv (automatic) to coonoor and back last weekend and enjoyed the trip. points to be noted are:
1. overall fe of 8.8 (a/c always on)
2. managed to hit 150 kmph on the odo and ran out of courage after that on the mysore-bangalore road!
3. used the 4x4 low setting and had a little but cautious fun on some slippery bits of road
4. has developed some highly irritating rattles from the dash and door pads on the return leg. the downhill section from coonoor has several long stretches of lightly broken tarmac and this is where the rattling started. due for 3rd service and hope to get that issue sorted.
5. overall its a confortable car to drive longdistances though i wish it had a little more power.

Nice to have another GV guy here.

Amazing for an auto. FE of GV is grossly misunderstood by all. Try running highway at 2200~2500 rpm with very gentle foot on accelerator. Share what FE it gives back.

4Low for just a slippery road? Either must have been hugely slippery or just over cautious drive from you. Have not put lock mode on highway/roads ever yet.

Same here...am working out to get Jap ECM which will give 20bhp boost to output. Project on hold for now.

i was just being over cautious. took the car off the tarmac onto some steep grassy meadow by the road side and it was raining. so just decided to be safe than sorry. it tracked that grassy bit like a lizard on glass. not an inch of twitch or shift...rock steady. perhaps next time i shall push it a bit in such conditions and have some fun!

and yeah, 8.8 kmpl for an autobox with a/c fulltime on is excellent i think too and we were 4 pax in the car for the trip.

a shot of the grassy bit. may not look slippery to a 50k gv veteran but it was to me!!

(oops!, how do i delete the previous reply???)

JFYI odo crossed 65k just before hitting during my return from the Raid. In two days of driving from Leh to Delhi - 12hours on day one and 14 on day two - the GV gave most comfortable feel and firm ride. The total trip - detailed elsewhere - gave rise to only one annoying slow puncture which needed air top up every second day. FE of 9.5 was a best I can expecet.

Going in for the 70000 service next week. One of the suspension joints seems to have become loose. Or it could be the skid plates. Will check once up on the ramp. IAC with 70k under the belt and the type of terrain it has been driven even the former is really not a comlaint that can be laid on the manufacturers door.

Other than that did a one day trip up and down to Amritsar in a day - 1100 kms self drive all through - with wife and sis-in-law and the driver for parking and cleaning. FE of 11.2 for the entire trip driving between 110~130 most of the time. i always have the air-con on.

The accidental repairs do not seem to have left any scars and except for the SUZUKI logo on the spare cover everything was delivered (including the entire rear door) within five days by Maruti. The car is still solid and silent but for the annoying rattle when driven alone. During the trip to Amritsar I noticed that the rattle was almost non-existent. So a check on rear seat latches or hinges is needed.

Wow, you really tour in the GV huh. For an '07 car, 70,000 kms on the odo is insane (nice kind of insane ). Any update on the ECU upgrade?

Exactly! And for a petrol vehicle which gives 10 kmpl! Makes me cringe at imagining the fuel costs!!

This reading is totally insane and that too for a Petrol vehicle. Couple of months back I saw an 07'accord with an ODO reading of 1.5lac. But that was being used as a taxi.

I will wait for the 70k service report.

always thought the GV was not very capable of full on off-roading. But after reading this thread and following Sudev's adventures, I am totally convinced.

Now only if Suzuki launch the 2.4 version soon.
