Car : i10 Kappa
Odo reading : 819
Driving : Full City, AC on 80% of time, 50% of time 4 pax, 30% of time cold start & very short distance drive.
Fuel used : Normal B.P. (D.M. & sons, Leela/Manipal jn)

First tank-full FE : 11

Can I expect it to go up after oil change in 2nd service and further kms on odo? I am a little bit disappointed, expected ~12.

Blame it on the low odo count, cold starts & 100% city drives - and be surprised that your mileage is actually quite good!

I am just about getting 8-9 on my i10 Auto ( 1.2 kappa ). but they are pure city drives and many a times short distances. ODO is at 1600 and 1st service is done. Still no visible improvement in mileage.

Still not got a chance to take it on a highway.

First service does nothing to engine/performance settings! just some cosmetic and basic checks. (unless you particularly bring it up, as a point to be checked)

Auto i10 FE threads show that general FE ~12-14 (or so, at city driving)
you can go thr blackasta's thread for Auto driving tips, and other figures.

that FE should rise after 2nd service.
still, if its 8~9 now, you can go the Service Center and ask for a check up*
(* assuming that you are calculating FE accurately -Tank full to tank full- , and your tires are well inflated at all times, and your driving is soft foot :P )

Please note:
Short distance drives frequently done are not good.
Neither for your engine nor for the FE!

Care.

Ace.

Did another tank-full.

This time 40% highway, 60% city drive. AC on 80%.

FE was ~13.3

And yes, first service is nothing but a check up and cleaning, so absolutely no impact on FE.

Here in the UK our 1st service is not due for 1 year or 10,000 miles. No longer do Hyundai demand a service at 600 to 1000 miles.
I changed the oil and filter myself on my daughters i10 1.2 at 3,000 miles and again at 7,000 miles so hopefully any swarf / metal particles will have been removed.

I am doing the same with my wife’s i10 auto.

1200 km FE update:

Last tank-full returned exactly 11 kmpl. Full city drive, mostly 4 pax, 70% AC.

I am starting to get disappointed, expected at least 12 kmpl in city. May be my driving style :-(

latest update

@ Cuboid

Bro, why dont you do a Service visit, asking for a check up wrt your figures?
Your standard tyre inflation is __?
---

Curent odo: 967km

Last TankFull-to-TankFull
@14.71 kmpl !
Mann, that 14 is a consistent performer!
My driving still has 30% of learners driving (Steep slopes Start/Stop, Self-taught lessons!, etc.)+20% City+ 50% Highway & Ghats!
and, City, Highway and Ghats all on AC, as per requirement (read: switched off when really chilly!)

Services done= 01

Perhaps the second Service will step that figure up!

Care.

Ace.

P.S. I strictly keep the tyres well inflated! (OCD checks almost!)

@cubiod,
I believe you are getting a decent mileage.
I had been monitoring my i10 mileage for 10000 kms. It gives me consistently 13 Kms within bangalore city with 20% AC. My city drive is almost bumper to bumper driving on the Chord road and Mysore road, where there are doing Metro work.
Around 18-19 Kms on highway with 70% AC.
Try re-adjusting your driving style.

Note from Mod : Topic discussed enough, you may now post your FE figures in the general Fuel Efficiency reporting thread.
