LOL, Now this topic is inevitable on Team-BHP!!

Heres my figures.

C Class - City 6.5 to 7. Highway 10

Esteem - City 9.5. Highway 13

Vtec - City 10. Highway 12 (High revving all the way to my destination. Never in economy mode)

Jeep City 11. Highway 13ish.

All the city figures are within Bombay peak hour traffic and with the air-con at all times. Also keep in mind that my main office is a mere 2 kms away and has atleast 6 signals and full of pedestrians en route. You can never go above second gear.

Mercedes C-180 - 8kmpl

Ford Endeavour - 7.5 - 8

Honda Accord 2002 (Automatic) - 5.5 to 6 (This is the one i use for myself thats why the figures r so poor haha...Excellent performer but low on fuel due to the auto and coz i really push it to the limits everytime)

Well, to put things in perspective, I'll give figures for my recently sold Astra as well as my current car.

Astra:
City: 6-6.5 Kmpl
Highway: 8 - 9 kmpl

Skoda 1.9TDi
City: 12 - 13.5 Kmpl
Highway: 18 - 20 kmpl (and thats diesel savings...woohooo!!)

Pulsar 180
City: 30 - 33 Kmpl (the bike is redlined in every gear)
Highway: Dunno, never really taken it further than Thane!

oh.. mine r very erratic...
* * * * * * * * *With a/c * * * * * * * *Without a/c
* * * * * * City * * Highway * * * *City * * * *Highway
wagonr *10-15 * *12-16 * * * * *12-16 * * * n/a
Alto * * *11-14 * *13-17 * * * * *12-14.5 * * n/a
800 * * *14-15 * * *- - * * * * * *17.5-19 * * n/a

And I believe.. if there is nothing wrong with your car, then you can call this a driver's fuel economy rather than the car's.

my zen has given me always 20+kpl on the highways when my parents are with me,with AC on most of the time after 8am and till 6pm.i compulsorily switch off the ac when on ghats,even when i am alone or fully loaded.
even after the free flow and the k&n i have been getting 18-20kpl.
recently on a mangalore drive which i did driving alone in 14 hours and AC on only from 10am till i reached the ankola rd at 1pm.and then on from 4pm till 6pm i got 17kpl .
the worst i have got is in mumbai ,from mulund to the JW marriot on a sunday.i got 8kpl with ac on full time and 5 people.
