Fiat Punto 1.3 MJD Emotion Pack | 26,000 KM update

Dear fellow 'T'bhpians'

We got our much awaited Fiat Punto 1.3 Emotion Pack delivered on 13 August.Being a hard core Fiat Fan and using Fiat cars for the last 10 years say Fiat Uno,Fiat Palio,We didn't even look for any other brands.I feel that there is no need for me to tell the pros and cons of this Italian beauty here because many have written a lot about them, right.?

Due to our tight budget,Fiat Linea were out of reach. So we had to choose between Fiat Linea Dynamic and Fiat Punto Emotion Pack.So finally we went for Fiat Punto as we wanted our car to be fully loaded .We had to wait for almost 1.5 months for our favorite color - Bossa Nova White. We got it delivered from RF Motors,Ernakulam-Kerala.But no freebies..!!

Did almost 1100+ kms in a week...!Now we are getting an average mileage of 19+ km/l with 100% AC On in mixed driving condition.Currently i am keeping the revs under 2k Rpm and had never touched the three figure speeds.

But the most distressing thing is that our alternator failed and the car had a breakdown. Now the car is with the dealer for the replacement of alternator which is yet to arrive. They have promised to give back our car within 2 weeks..!

But to our surprise, the Fiat people responded very fast even in the middle of the night when we had the break down.I would certainly give 10/10 for their promptness. The help arrived at the place of the breakdown within 12 hours.(The place of breakdown was 170 kms away from our dealer, but even then they responded very promptly)

Meanwhile I am so sure that ours may be the only Punto which developed a problem within a week of delivery.

Here are some of the photographs of our Italian Beauty.

That is a real beauty. After seeing the red punto, thought it is the best looker. But now, after seeing the White, I am completely floored. Amazing beauty.

And, Congratulations for the car.

Congratulations and safe driving the italian beauty. White looks a class apart on Punto. I think yours is only the second Bossa Nova white on our forum.

Nice pics amith. Sorry to hear about the breakdown. Any clues as to why it happened? I mean, were there any symptoms before failure? Good reaction by RF Motors. I had heard in negative about them, but your experience seems to prove otherwise.

Yeah the vehicle did show some symptoms. We got several warning messages in the multifunction display, say 'Airbag Failure','EBD Failure','ABS Failure','Check Glow Plugs' etc..Meanwhile the dealers said us that ours is the only Fiat car(Say Fiat Linea and Grande Punto) which developed an "alternator problem".

Here are more pictures of our dear Fiat Punto

Stay Tuned..!

Yes, alternator malfunction is a rare one. Please do find out from the dealer what caused the alternator to malfunction (A hard thing to do). It could have been a very small thing that caused the malfunction. If it indeed was a small thing that caused malfunction, you might want to know circumstances leading to that small thing and try to avoid them in future. Just a suggestion.

Will surely ask them to figure out the reason.By the way the alternator has been dispatched from Pune and they have promised to give back our Fiat Punto on Monday..!!
