Got Tata Safari, need help with Central Locking Remote Key

Hello,

I had got Tata Safari EX yesterday. When the sales man gave me the keys, there were two keys and one Central Locking Remote. I asked about the second key, as it was already 8PM so they said that PDI department is closed, will give you the second key in the morning.

Now they are saying that your car came with single remote key. I am afraid in case I lost the key, then there is no way to enter the car.

What should I do?

1) IMHO, this thread should be in Technical Stuff - Team-BHP section or Indian Car Dealerships - Team-BHP.

2) So in the first place the dealer said that there are two remote locks, next morning, they claim it came with one. Generally always there will one remote with one key.

3) Anybody can open the car with that second remote, so its not safe actions from dealer. Ask him to give you second key or get an entire set of locks. Personally I will never accept any of their arguments. Inquire with others if Safari comes with two remotes or not. If yes, then the dealer has lost or damaged the other remote.

Congrats!

It should come with two keys and two remotes. Maybe one remote is inside the front storage box or with the manual pack. Spare remote comes in a packed cover.

There should be two keys and two remotes, period.

Anything else, tell them they goofed up and ask them to change the locks and provide new set of keys and locks (2 each).

Do not fall for the "it came with this". Some one there obviously goofed up.

And yes, congrats on the buy.

Thankyou! Yes one of the Accessory Supervisor there told me that it should be in the front box, but it wasnt there. So I asked the sales man and he advised me to wait till morning.

I dont want to argue with them, because I know I lose my temper so easily. Those guys are very nice and friendly.

Today I called at the Tata Helpline they gave me a number of Regional Head Office. I am not sure about the reaction of HO on this, they might take it as a complaint.

In case, the dealer do not change the locks or he does not provide me the second remote.

What should I do then? Should I go ahead and ask HO to help me?

Tata Safari - Pulling towards left while braking

I am facing a problem from day one. While braking, my Tata Safari pulls towards left and it is so severe tha tI have to take it back to track by tilting steering to right.

I got it checked at service station today, they opened the front disc and checked but problem is still existing. I met another customer there, who bought it on the other day, he is having the same problem and mechanic at Service centre also saying that safari suffers fromthis problem.

What should I do?

Don't mean to be rude but please use the search function. This question has been answered already. That way all Safari owners can look for good info in a single thread.

I am some who has booked a Dicor LX and am desperate to know more about it!! Will be getting the beast in the next week or so.

The brakes need to be checked, it is a very common problem. You may want to try a different service station.

Below are threads with similar issues shared.

Hi

Its a LHS brake calliper issue. Please get it rectified asap. I had the same and got it rectified once for all http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/test-d...ml#post1412027

My 2 cents on approaching the dealer to get this resolved.

1. Tell them its a safety issue.
2. Tell them to use their own tyres and not yours to do extensive brake testing issue.
3. Get your LSVP checked

Thanks
Rahul

They checked it indeed, but they were unable to know whats the cause. I know they will not open the caliper again, so what exactly should I ask them to do? Replace the caliper or any other particular thing to do?

and what is LSVP? :

Well have the calliper changed /replaced with a fresh one. If it doesnt help still , get the load sensing pressure valve checked and corrected (LSPV) located underneath near the RR wheel. Workshop knows it.

If still it doesnt work, involve local CS and get it rectified asap.

Please go through my thread wherein TML replaced the caliper and idler arm & steering linkage arms to rectify it. All in all 10 days.
However I got a raw deal as my tyres went for a toss. specially the FL wheel. So please be rigid and get it rectified.

Edit: there are lots of bhpians from NCR region who can also help you across

I have pm'ed u my number incase u need further help.

is the pulling only during braking ? or even during normal driving - indicating an alignment problem rather than brakes..

Its while only braking. We tested today on different roads, planes, speeds, car pulled only to left side.
