True and thats what we get here. The quattro is not an option on the 2.0 TFSI. So with respect to this thread context, the Indian A4 2.0 TFSI does not do 0-100 in 6.x seconds but 8.x seconds.

Re: Audi A4 2.0 TDI or 2.0 TFSI

A different take:

The 2.0 TDI actually feels just like the Laura 2.0 TDI AT DSG, but is a bit tighter and has the parking brake button to hold the car while at signals. (like the passat). That makes it at lot more comfortable to drive, also the the sounds system is much better than the Laura, Superb and Passat. The 3 Series due for a change soon has an even better feature set compared to the 2.0 TDI A4 (the stuff like reverse camera etc, is reserved for the 3.0 TDI A4.

The A4 in red looks lovely check it out- simply the best looking car this side of 40L.

Yes the TSI is more fun and better, but it will indeed take time to be available, and will ofcourse have a lesser resale price than the TDI.

The TDI 2.0 A4 can be had for about 32L (Landed price with mumbai registration) (a colleague just picked one up in last week of June) (after stiff negotiations and discounts) if you go over in the last week of the month and pick from the cars in stock. So though the cars are priced the same on paper, a 2.0 TSI will cost more upfront as they will not give a major discount for a car than needs to be ordered.

So though the TSI will be more fun it will effectively cost more to run, more to buy and will finally sell for less. The overall difference in the life of the car with you over 3-5 years could be 10L effectively.

Yet you could buy the TSI - but do keep the above in mind.

Re: Audi A4 2.0 TDI or 2.0 TFSI

I am still waiting for my car to come, on sunday i went to the BMW showroom and drove the 520d.

What a beautiful machine and its only few lacs more than Audi a4.

This is what the guy has quoted:-

37.60ex showroom
4,09,000 Delhi registration
75000 insurance
37000 secure
295000 for the bsi package (5years with 1,00,000 km) or 2,11,000 5 years 60,000km

I am not too keen on getting the BSI package as i wont be driving too much. 10 to 13 k in a a year.

what do u guys suggest?

The unanimous reply will be "Go for the 520d, but then for a few more the 525d is really great and smoother being a V6 and then after some time, you can easily bump the power using bolt-on mods to 530d"

Cheers.

ARSC,

520 makes a brilliant choice with BMW's wonderful RWD platform, but do also try get a nice discount to lower the gap of money you will be spending extra for it.

Also since you mentioned A4 has some interior changes could you specify what exactly would love to know?

Regards,

I am getting a good discount but only confused in getting the BSI package. The interior changes are nothing only some changes in the audio unit.

LOL! Now from A4 to 5. Thats a nice dilemma. I think you should go for the 520d. Its the bread and butter car for BMW 5 series.

Its nice and comfortable, but many will suggest to look at A6 and then you will have to go the complete circle again.

The color of choice is tough to maintain almost as tough as black. If you can just go ahead and spec it right.

Cheers!

Re: Audi A4 2.0 TDI or 2.0 TFSI

@ARSC: I have been driven around in the A4 2.0TDI and in the 520D, the A4 has jerky gear changes as compared to the 520 D and is also very cramped as compared to my Elantra. 520D gets my vote and the ride is also rather plush.
