the superb is a far better car than the sonata or accord. the superb is an E class at the price of camry. if u plan to get the sonata do check the irritating noise while deppresing and releasing the clutch, it was a problem in the old embera i dont know if it has been sorted in the transform but do check it out. sonata dosent have the feel of a superb or a laura. Go for the superb bro with your eyes closed u want regret.

I know that the Superb is a great buy - Its the last straw on the camel's back - post stretching budget to 16+L (post buy back), but dont want to put that extra money 4-5L now in these times

congrats:

Pros - Warranty, Interiors, low maintenance cost, interesting drive, rare to see / unique car.

-ves - Resale (but ok in the time frame you are considering), not the most planted on the road, nor the one with the most josh. No snob value, but then definately a practical choice.

sonata has its own charm about it. i like the dual exhaust, the new interiors, they have also increased power to 150 bhp. 10 bhp increase i think. new alloys. new bumpers, new grill, just great.

i think its a great decision. people buy Honda for its badge value. its not bad cars but the overpricing which i don't like.

That said, I'd recommend you toward an Accord test-drive. TD both, back to back, and decide.

The Superb and Accord will cost you about the same. You are payig 16.3+the buy back on the Baleno aren't you. All three have good legroom, decent engines for indian traffic conditions (Superb's is the best followed by Honda's but the difference is marginal so unless you are a spirited driver you wont notice)

USP (+ves)
Hyundai: A.S.S / Diesel
Honda: Reliability
Skoda: Build/Feel

-ves
Hyundai: Feel - in the end the Sonata is pretty bland to drive
Honda: TCO - can be expensive to maintain (compared to the Hyundai) if you have problems (you will get service but parts are not as cheap as Hyundai)
Skoda: A.S.S

If you drive yourself and have a good local garage who can fix most things that can go wrong over 7-8 years of owner ship get the Superb. If the Hyundai seems to bland a car to drive (GTO rightly said test the Honda and Hyundai back to back) and can afford the Accord service and parts get the Honda. If you are chauffered and a bland car is not something that you care about and A.S.S (and TCO) is on the top of your mind get the Hyundai.

Skoada and honda rips off their customers!! just have a look at overdrive or autocar magazine in march( not sure which one.) but it has got an analysis of car spare parts prices. you guys will be shocked to see the spare costs of chevy cars and skoda and honda! and VW.
in this time of recession. every rupee saved is a rupee earned!!

test driven

took a test drive of sonata tranform yesterday. it was a manual, diesel,
does not look very tempting from outside..

interiors are ok (better than Embera) plenty of space struggled a bit to find a comfortable driving position.
Torque is good. pick up is also not bad.

back seat is very spacious and comfortable (the best i like about this car)
didnt like the fake wooden thing in the dash
