spadival-the cheaper option than changing the whole unit would be smoking the indicator part of the rear lights, which would make it look smaller.[pls check my garage]

Besides, great DIY!! Wonder if anyone in India can do this....
I personally did not like the rear lights. They were too roundish for the square mold. And lots of empty gray space.

Memo from the forum had done a nice DIY angel eyes job on his Baleno. To my knowledge this car is 'No more'. Someone please fish out some old pics of this?

Anyone here who can source them??

Where in the world is a Suzuki Baleno sold as a Chevrolet Esteem?

Or is that some extra badging someone has added?

Chevrolet Esteem

Hey guys, yea this is true. After reading the posts above i tried to google and see if I could find any thing about the Chevy Esteem, but came across none. I did get a few pics of these vehicles being up for sale. And its exactly the same as our Baleno, like the 2000 model.

I guess Chevrolet Marketed the Esteem in some country. When they do this the company marketing the vehicle puts its name and logo on the car I guess. Please correct me if am wrong here.

Here are the pics that I came across.

GM had a certain share in Suzuki ??

On furthur research i stumbled upon something. And here is what I found.

1998 - Suzuki and General Motors form strategic alliance and ChongqingChang'an Suzuki Automobile Co., Ltd. received official approval from the Chinese government for production of passenger cars.

Suzuki (1981-2008, GM owned over 20% at one time)

and this info I got from this website Wapedia - Wiki: Suzuki

No story. GM used to have a minority share holding in Suzuki. So they rebadged Suzuki cars up until the point where they gobbled Daewoo Motors.

I was once told by Memo ( a fellow member) that he got a VW Golf type III angel eyes and custom fitted in his baleno. So I think thats possible the european sites are asking somewhere between 150-200 pounds for a set.

@leodelg:2 sets for me dear, if u can PM me your account number.

As for history our good old baleno was known as Suzuki Cultus-crecent/Baleno/ Esteem chevy esteem and all.

The number plate looks like it's from Brazil or Argentina. The other pictures clearly say Ecuador.
