Most suited engine oil.......?

Now another debating thread, (sorry admins, if I have posted in the wrong Q, this was the most appropriate)

Which engine oil is good for use?

My choices can be
Mobil 1
Castrol GTX
Pennzoil (not sure about the specs)

I had been using Mobil even for my 2-wheeler Suzuki Shogun.
So I would like some expert advice for a good engine oil (budget ranging from medium to high) for my OHC VTEC.

Also pls recommend which petrol is good for performance?... BPCL Speed or Speed 97?

You can try synthetic engine oils from Shell like Helix Ultra and OWS. Mobill 1 is good too.

For performance obviously speed 97 but for a OHC Vtec I think you could stick to speed.

Few days back I flushed my engine oil and now its running on Castrol GTX Magnatec .... Its pretty good. Earlier I was going to put Mobil 1 but makes no sense putting it in Santro.

You got a Vtec, I say go for Mobil 1. May be other Vtec/Mobil 1 owners/users might give you better picture.

I run my ohc vtec on Castrol GTX magnatec...its very good I can say...donno if comparing it with fully synthetic like mobil1 would make sense but for the money you are paying magnatec should keep you damn satisfied. For engines older than 100000kms, mobil1 should be preferred for other reasons.

ps: Use Bardahl engine oil additive(some 350bucks) with magnatec and you have magical results.

No just say Castrol GTX Magnatec .. you will need 4 lt can (700-800 grey in color) and it is advisable that you also change the Oil pump which will cost 120 bucks.
Voila much smoother Santro.

2) mercedes all over the world especially the wdb211 were facing this problem of cam wear as early as 30,000 kms the reason mobil 1.. u could infact ask for instance autohangar or taipan ...which oil they were earlier using and which oil they are using now.. ..

but the best test lies with u .. use mobil 1 .. run the car for around 10,000 kms and then switch to OWS, shell helix ultra or petrocanada and see the diff for urself..
