For dust protection alone, go for the lightest cover with elastic and mirror pockets. For dust protection alone, you may not need a custom snug fit.
My previous Polco Tyvek cover was extremely light and left way less swirls than my current heavier Polco N-Series.

I am not sure you will get any "branded" cover for 2k though - only the amazon ones.

So finally, I got myself a Neodrift Supertech premium cover for a hefty 4.7K. Got a discount at the checkout as the total was 5.2k something. While the cover boasted of being water proof etc but on using on the car post one rain shower I found the inner of the car was wet.

I had wrestled with the TPH cover for around 2 years before I decided to get the Neodrift. The TPH cover weighed a ton. It costed in the same range and was a workout to put on and off the car so much that I would sometimes just walk it up or use public transport leaving the car at home while going out as the cover was a major pain to remove. Inspite of being heavy duty it did not last much and developed cracks and the lower side had become like a snake scales and felt like a boa constrictor trying to devour the car.

The current Nedodrift is pretty much light and quite frankly it does not seem the premium I paid for it. Lets’ see how it holds in a year or two as I have been through several covers. This will be my 4th premium cover for my 5 year old Swift. The second TPH cover was a disaster and it stained my cars paint as posted on this thread earlier and I threw that cover away. 2 years seems to be the norm for these so called pricey covers








The inner of the cover is white at the body and black in color for the bumper section.






The dew drops provide the illusion of being water proof but after opening the cover the car was wet on the inside.

TPH Covers Purchase experience

So after much deliberation, I decided to go ahead with TPH, even with all the speculation on their quality of recent products.

Purchase:

I reached out their WhatsApp Support and they were prompt in sharing the products available. Reviewing the lot, I zeroed in on two of their variants:

• Storm shield - MRP - 5740 and offer price quoted was 4400
• Sport X - MRP -9639 and offer price quoted was 8262

When asked the difference between the two, I was informed Sport X is more durable than Storm Shield and is made of polyester fabric whereas the latter is made of polyamide. Considering that my parking is partially open and my car is frequently subjected to dust( owing to the constructions) and rains, I decided to go for the Sport X. The only customization allowed was the piping and mirror color. Also they confirmed that logo cannot be printed and the reason being (as informed by the support) 'heat press cannot stick in this material'.

The final price after discount came out to be 7500. The address was asked and the payment was done online. Wasn't shared any invoice or anything.

Shipping

I placed the order on 15th Aug EOD and was told it would take 10 working days to deliver. I received the product via Amazon Shipping on 29th Aug.

Product

It was heavy! I did read the reviews that it would be heavy but I did not anticipate it would be THIS heavy. The delivery personnel handed me a duffel kind of bag( I was expecting a cardboard box, considering it was shipped via Amazon).
This is how it came

It was zip locked with my details attached on the other side. Opening this there was another bag.

And within that was the cover and the invoice( shared in a neat envelope)

On the Car

Putting on the cover was a cumbersome task. Took me roughly about 15 mins to sort out the front and rear and then putting it on by myself. The outside material was strong with TPH Badging on the front and the TPH branding on the windshield. They missed on providing a groove for the shark fin antenna ( Seltos HTX Facelift model ). But the fit was on point. The elastics in the front and rear completely covered the car.

They also shared a buckle to hold down the cover.
Inside was relatively soft.

Water Test

So poured some water on the bonnet to see if it's hydrophobic. To my dismay it was not, but I am not sure if this product is supposed to be hydrophobic. The water eventually flowed down but there was a stain on area where water was poured.

I did check the inside then and could find the bonnet being dry completely.
Maybe I will let the rains do their work and see how it fares.


Overall I am satisfied. Will have to see how it fares in the next 6 months and then decide if it's worth the hefty price tag. However, given it's price, I would expect it to last more than 3 years.

After using the Neodrift cover for 6 months with 3 under heavy rain conditions I can jot down a few observations.
1. The cover seems more durable than the TPH as far as wear and tear is concerned. Touchwood no tear so far. The earlier TPH was not great in this regard.

2. The water proof quality which was touted by the manafacturer is just for name sake. The car gets soaking wet even from the a/c water dripping from my neighbors at the top. Last rainy season my request sensor on the left side developed an issue and had to be repaired at a garage for 1.4k. I blame this on the poor level of water resistance of the cover. No such issue when the TPH was on.

3. The cover is much lighter than any of the TPH covers owned by me but is good only as a dust/sun light protector. It may not be capable of protecting the car against scratches and definitely not rain. At best and indoor cover rather than for open parking.

4. The covers on the side mirrors offer the same level of performance on both TPH and Neodrift. They both collect water and I make sure they are not wrapped over the mirrors as this causes the mirrors to malfunction due to the accumulated water.

This will be my last Neodrift cover and will keep as long as it lasts or till just before the rainy season. Might switch to TPH again.

Hello All,

Does anyone have idea on the transparent car cover. I heard that it will not be a tight fit and allow for some air circulation. This cover is usually used for closed garage parking which is not exposed to rain or sunlight.

I tried surfing over online shopping portal but can't find any availability. If anyone have any feedback or options to buy please let me know.

Would it not be a better (more cost effective) option to bye-and-throw a cover every year? I've used Polco (Tyvek) and TPH. So called "Premium" products that cost 6k plus and last no more than a couple years. Might as well buy a tarp and custom stitch it for less than 2k. Even if it lasts only a year, it's still more cost effective.
