MGA also sells Dupont Tyvek for slightly higher price.
Here is the definition from Maruti accessories list:

Description : Premium quality car body cover made up of DuPont TyvekŪ 100% HDPE material fabric that is water resistant yet breathable, lightweight, is chemically resistant to most chemicals and has exceptional particulate barrier properties which keeps foreign matter

I do not see "water proof" anywhere in the description - its just water resistant.

+1 to that, the MGA Cover is not a Waterproof Cover. I had brought the Cover for my Dzire. But whenever it rains the water seeps in.

But i think, it is mentioned on the Product Description cover for the cover being waterproof, i will try to post a pic, if i can locate the page :)

Anybody know where to pick up Tyvek cover for the polo in Chennai? Dealer is quoting 2950 - is that a fair price?

Check out Reliance Autozone. They usually sell Polco Tyvek covers
(And take your Polo there to check the fit then and there. Sometimes they either label it wrong or a bigger size than the one mentioned is needed)

There are no Reliance Autozones in Chennai. I think there are a couple of stores in Bangalore.

I am also looking for the Tyvek cover here in Bombay for my Polo. Although the dealer here is quoting about 2500 bucks. It also has the VW logo printed on top and is waterproof :) Might get it.

Any idea who sells Tyvek covers in Chennai for Honda? Dealers have only basic one which tears in 2 months.

I am also looking for one for my Civic. The old eBay link does not show up any Tyvek!

I'm curious how these covers for the Polo take care of the rear FM antenna. Does the cover wrap around the antenna or does it have a provision to allow the antenna to pass through?

I have been using an ordinary car cover for my Altis. Bought for 1K. Works well except in the rains when not only does water seep through but putting on the cover is a pain. The cover would stick to the car body and if you pull hard, it would tear.

How convenient are these Tyvex covers in the rains? Easy to put on and take off on a wet car?

The antenna is always removable :) Just unwind it and keep it in your boot.

I have to look for a cover for my Alto -the existing one has torn in five places. Each time it tears, I pay a cobbler sitting in front of my home Rs 20.00 to patch it up, so it sports five proud patches now! But two years in the roasting sun, dust and monsoon rains have taken their toll, and now whenever I pull a little hard anywhere, that place tears easily.

Any idea where these are available for Alto in Chennai?

Very true but removing the antenna every time could be quite a pain especially if you cover the car daily. This is where the glass antenna or the BMW fin style antenna would be very handy.

Here is the link to Polco creations. This company makes car covers using Dupont's tyvek material. These covers are now a days available at most supermarkets. More expensive than regular covers but worth the money.

Can anyone tell me how much would this dupont cover cost me for my my Accent and also where would i get it in Mumbai? Anywhere in opera house?

Where in Bangalore can we buy this Tyvek DuPont car cover? I haven't checked Reliance Autozone but I will tomorrow. Apart from R AZ, is this cover available with anyone else?

Cheers,
aK

^^Tyvek is just the name of the fabric made by Dupont, the covers themselves are made by independent mfrs. Polco is the best I think, and can be ordered online.
