I know of many who fancy switching the colors of their rims every now and then. This might come handy. Also, a good option if you're worried of ruining the worth of the wheels by painting them. Go mad! :D

@Scorcher that is a great product. Do you know of any place selling it? It shall definitely revolutionise the modification scenario. Though I don't like the green coloured rims I'm sure they shall have some good shades in black and other attractive colours. Painting the brake calipers also looks cool and if the same product can do it, it's a sure winner.

€50 per can! Sheesh! Is it any different from Plasti-Dip which costs $5 per can? I don't see any innovation. People spray Plasti-Dip on pretty much everything, like mouse, phone, car's rims and interior and even the entire car itself. It's removable also.

I agree.
From the pictures it appears that the bonding of the coated plastic film to the metallic surface is not very good. I would be sceptical of its practical usage when the coating is subjected to abrasion due to flying particulates, mud, grime etc during daily drives.
Looks like a fun product.

Watched videos of Plasti-Dip being used on cars and its pretty interesting, can be used to spruce up dull interiors as well if applied properly. Any idea if I can purchase this in Mumbai?
Bonnie Chabbria has (or had??) Foliatec in his portfolio of after-market products for India. 50 Euro is an excellent price if the end-finish is decent, and the product lasts 10 - 12 months. I'd love to have a can of the matt-black finish.
Keep an eye on Ebay USA / UK. Only a matter of time before these cans start surfacing there.
wow! looks like a nice weekend project! love to have matte black wheels, but 4k per can is kinda expensive.
anyone try Plasti-Dip or intending to try it anytime soon? would love to see the results before buying :D

If we plan to paint all the 4 alloys, how many cans of Vinyl Sprays do you think we would need?
This would be a boon for all the Govinda's Sort of Guys, who can paint the alloys in rainbow colors and then play havoc on the road :D

That would depend on the number of coats. I was watching the video above and in that the guy sprays 5coats. Agreed he did it for the whole car, but still.
Looks interesting, however I have my doubts. Alloys do tend to pick up a lot of scratches from grit enc. I wonder how much this spray last, as it may get chipped off very fast. This will probably be even softer than paint.

If the layer of paint is soft enough to be removed by hand , Wouldn't it get scrapped off by a little scrubbing , detergent or cleaning ?
@Scorcher , Is there a specific procedure/material/solution which has to be applied while removing the paint or is it this soft all the time ? lol:

It's like a removable layer of paint that we can spray on the bike/car;pretty durable stuff. Might even be useful to ensure the original paint remains intact if you ever want to sell the bike as you can just peel the paint off with your bare hands.
The reason I ask is because the bike which I plan to purchase doesn't come in Black, and I really wanted blackstupid:. Also any idea how much it would cost to repaint a whole bike and where I can get it done in Chennai?
Just asking out of curiosity as I want to keep my options open..
