Jeep Compass uses a Honeywell Turbo, I have checked it physically. Not sure whether it has an electric actuator though.

Honeywell has bought Garrett .

From their official website : Turbo of Jeep Compass India

GTD1449VKZ is the latest gen VGT turbo with electric actuator. I am looking for GTB1549VZ which was used in older cars with 2.0 MJD. That is almost direct fit for my S-Cross 1.6.

Honeywell has not bought Garrett. Garrett been a part of Honeywell for a very long time although they manufactured turbos under different names. The company name was changed to Honeywell Garrret about a year ago. So you will see names of both although they come from the same manufacturer.

Honeywell manufactures several other products too and plans to spin off its turbo business into a separate company sometime soon.

re: Maruti S-Cross 1.6 Stage 3 Build: 202 HP / 438 Nm, tuned by Wolf Moto

These are the weights & comparisons of the compressor wheel when tried in my car - Hyundai Verna diesel 1.5L . Stock is GT1544v cast wheel & modified was GT1549v billet wheel. Exhaust turbine (GT15) was unchanged.

GT1544V (used in 1.5L+ diesel engines) Compressor wheel - exducer 44mm inducer 31mm, weight 20 gms. Boost thrust >10psi starts at 1800rpm. Max peak sustained boost 24psi from 2800rpm onwards.

GT1549v (used In 2.0L+ diesel engines) Compressor wheel - exducer 49mm inducer 34mm, weight 26 gms. Boost thrust >10psi starts at 2300rpm. Max peak sustained boost 29psi from 3300rpm onwards(being 30% heavier).

Suzuki S-Cross uses GT1446v - it is an intermediate turbo between GT1544v & GT1549v with smaller exhaust turbine & bigger compressor wheel compared to GT1544v. So the total moving turbine assembly weight has been balanced by reducing exhaust turbine side & increasing compressor side.

During the course of modifying my car I had a pre-turbo EGT probe & wideband O2 controller installed which could read upto 200:1 Air Fuel ratios.

Sorry for poping up in between guys but I have small suggestion, If you are looking to improve the low end torque then I would suggest you to have a look at reducing the turbine size rather going for bigger compressor (46 mm to 49 mm) to existing turbine (GT14).

Here is some of the examples of the cars which has got very good low end torque and almost zero turbo lag,
1) Honda City (1.5 Diesel) :- GT1241
2) Honda Civic (1.6 Diesel) :- GT1244V Europe version
3) Skoda Rapid / Volkswagen Vento (1.5 Diesel) :- GT1244V

I believe new Hyundai Verna U2 (1.6 Diesel) engine also uses GT1244V turbo (Not sure about this but you can cross verify from Garrett official website).

So IMO if you manage to reduce the size of turbine from GT1446 to GT1246 there are more chances that you can get very good drivabilty. I hope this make sense.

S-Cross 1.6 has GTB1446VZ turbo, yes it's a bigger turbo for 1.6 diesel engine. The same turbo was used in 2.0 MJD 140 hp versions. I am very much happy with the present low end of my car after Wolf Remap. Frankly I do not mind losing it by some amount for better mid and top end with bigger turbo. S-Cross is mainly used on highways and I do not bother much about low end or bumper to bumper driving.

Wolf Moto remap.
Won't the service centre know that the ECU is remapped once they run diagnostics during servicing?
Will it affect the 4 yrs warranty ?

More than 40 S-Cross 1.6 are running with Wolf remap and all get their service done at Maruti itself. Nobody had any issues related to warranty till date.

Remap is not detected during normal diagnostic scan. It doesn't show any error codes. But a remap could be definitely detected if they are looking for it in specific. All they have to do is log different parameters and send it to Maruti.

25k kms done with Wolf Moto Remap!

The car has successfully completed 25k kms post Wolf remap. Zero issues till date, hope it stays reliable the same way .

I knew that my car is quick, but did not know it is so good when you compare with some fast cars!

0-100 : 7.9 seconds on G Tech
Maruti S-Cross 1.6 Stage 3 Build: 202 HP / 438 Nm, tuned by Wolf Moto-img_20180130_015238.jpg
0-100 : 8.55 seconds on Dragy (Do note that this was on slightly wet road, Falken tyres)

I don't think any stock car below 25 lakhs has better 0-100 timing.

I had watched the autocar drag comparo of Stock vs Petes tuned Abarth Punto. It was done on drag strip and remapped Abarth did 1/4th mile in 16.27 seconds.

I was curious to find out the timing of my S-Cross, took out my Dragy and timed the car. Oh boy, I did it in 16.28 seconds, that's 0.01 seconds slower than tuned Abarth haha. My timing would be definitely better if done on the same drag strip.

I am very sure that I would improve 0.3 to 0.4 seconds with slicks and weight reduction. It should do 1/4th mile in 15.8 seconds. Hope I will make the car faster by at least 1 second with bigger turbo and Stage 2 Wolf map. It would be fun competing with Polo / Vento / Rapid TDI's with bigger turbo in my humble Cross over

The car is running beautifully with Wolf Moto Remap. I have driven more than 30k KM's now.

Look what timing I got on Dragy. Can you believe this in a Maruti cross over weighing 1275 kgs ?

0-100 : 7.83 seconds

Can't wait for turbo upgrade now , hopefully it would be sub 7 seconds haha!

I also need to upgrade my intercooler. I have spoken to Karan Shah from KS Motorsports. He would build a custom intercooler provided he has access to the car for couple of days on Dyno. Braking should be sorted soon. Dixcel SD Slotted Rotors are on the way from Japan.

re: Maruti S-Cross 1.6 Stage 3 Build: 202 HP / 438 Nm, tuned by Wolf Moto

Few Updates :

S-Cross 1.6 can be remapped without opening ECU now. Wolf has been testing a new Stage 2 map with very good top end performance for S-Cross 1.6 with at least decat downpipe. A friend got that map and did 0-100 in just 7.47 seconds. That was too good !! But the map is still under testing, smoke levels are higher.

Would I get this Map ?

No

But, Why ?

This has arrived haha, I would be going higher.. Stage 3 !!

This is OE turbo of 2.0 MJD used in cars before 2014. Hoping to hit 190 to 200 hp at crank in my S-Cross .

I'd be curious to know what they can achieve with a Wolf Moto tuned car. This particular Pete's tune up job did not really offer any significant benefit over stock. From a stock car perspective and with run off the mill Good Year 195 section tires, it is still a pretty good result.

Keeping aside ecu tune up jobs, what the Abarth really needs is a way to get cooler air into the blower/engine. This requires quite a bit of plumbing work.

Curious to know what the 2l MJD has in India.

Yes, I am also curious to know the timing of Wolfed Abarth Punto. Wolf tuned Linea T Jet itself did better timing than competitor tuned Abarths

2.0 MJD (both India & ROW ) gets latest gen Garrett turbo , i.e GTD series which has electric actuator.

re: Maruti S-Cross 1.6 Stage 3 Build: 202 HP / 438 Nm, tuned by Wolf Moto

The car is now running with Stage 3 tune from Wolf Moto. Results are very impressive.

0-100 : 7.06 seconds

1/4th Mile : 15.11 seconds

Estimated Figures : 200 HP / 420 NM

I would be getting an updated map after pending hardware mods like Intercooler, DIA and cat back exhaust. The car is now running with Wolf Stage 3 Map , Decat downpipe and GTB1549V turbo.

How will the cat back exhaust help since the downpipe you have now is more free? Or is it a performance catback system.
Also won't the DIA negate the bigger intercooler, rather leave the stock air filter and fit a bigger IC or is it because you need a bigger filter due to the bigger turbo.
Just wondering since I thought of fitting my previous car's BMC intake system on my Aspire which I realized will pull in hot air from the engine bay even if has a intake pipe sucking air from the front grill.
