I have posted 0-100 and in gear acceleration figures : TOT vs Wolf. Downpipe was present with both TOT and Wolf run and even the fuel / road / time of testing were same. Wolf map timing would have been slightly better as the car had around 15 litres more fuel

S-Cross 1.6 is very sensitive to fuel quality and today I have proved it with timings

Note : I had posted the details of TOT map + downpipe runs few days back itself on another thread. I did the timing with Wolf map later and posted the comparo on this thread.

Link of my post regarding TOT remap + downpipe runs.. Posted before I had got Wolf remap

S-Cross 1.6 : Restrictive stock air box??

When I had dynoed my car with TOT remap, we had done a run without stock air filter and the gains were impressive. Gains were almost same as a remap, haha. But I doubt the numbers shown on dyno.. Yes the gains are there for sure.

I checked with BMC distributor in Bangalore and they don't have replacement filter for S-Cross. I am planning to install BMC DIA with bigger filter which costs 17,500 Rs. I will get this done during my next visit to Bangalore. I hope there would be at least 5hp gain.

Attaching the dyno graph :

By any chance would you be able to map the car to stock settings ? Or once you change the mapping is there no way to change it back to original factory settings.

It's always possible to revert back to stock map anytime. The tuner keeps a copy of the stock map in their system. Also, I do get a copy of my stock map file from the tuner as backup.

Good, you asked this question : I will clarify one more thing.

If the remap is done by OBD method.. Flash counter value increases and the manufacturer could still detect that the car was remapped even if you revert back to stock.

If the remap is done by flashing directly into EEPROM.. The flash counter data is not incresed and the manufacturers can't find out that the car is remapped if you revert back to stock.

re: Maruti S-Cross 1.6 Stage 3 Build: 202 HP / 438 Nm, tuned by Wolf Moto

S-Cross 1.6 uses fully imported Garrett turbo charger : GTB1446VZ. Thanks to Vigkey for providing the FPT part number written on turbo. Using this part number, I confirmed the Garrett number in their website.

So how is this information useful??

Many Alfa Romeo cars running with same engine and turbo.. Have been tuned to 190-200 HP at crank by using a bigger turbo from Garrett and stage 2 remap. I am planning to do the same by end of this year .

Alfa Romeo 1.6 MJD running with bigger turbo : ~190HP at crank!!

Thanks for sharing! Do you know what other components are required at this point or is it just a straight turbo swap along with a remap?

I cannot confirm anything as of now. I need to do more research regarding the compatibility. Few Alfa Romeo / Fiat cars (same engine and turbo as S-Cross) in Europe have used bigger turbo from Garrett (GTB1549/GT1749), 2.0 MJD intercooler, 3 bar MAP sensor, Decat downpipe, intake mod etc and have attained 190-200 hp at crank on Dyno. I will take few more months to finalise everything and then import the parts

Boy you are on a roll!! If you do manage to pull this off, yours will probably be the first 200BHP S-Cross in India!! Try and see if you can get the OEM parts imported that fit the engine. Also since you already have a decat downpipe do you need to redo it once you are fitting other parts - I am guessing not, but would like to know if it is needed.

Haha.. It would be world first too . I couldn't find even a proper remap review for 1.6 S-Cross in any international forums / websites. I had to search for the details in Alfa and Fiat forums because many cars share same engine and turbo.

I am trying my best to find bolt on parts. Also, this build is not going to happen anytime soon. I don't think I have to redo the downpipe if the new bigger turbo is direct fit. As of now I am planning to upgrade tyres and install BMC DIA

re: Maruti S-Cross 1.6 Stage 3 Build: 202 HP / 438 Nm, tuned by Wolf Moto

I got to test the car under full load today. There were 4 guys and 3 bags in boot. I couldn't make out any significant drop in performance . And yes, I did time my car haha. 0-100 as per Speedo video was just 9 seconds. Also, the car was pulling really well even at unmentionable speeds. FE during this test run (WOT almost all the time) was 9.9 KMPL as per MID. I drove normally on the way back and it was 20.5 KMPL on MID.

0-100 Acceleration run (with 4 guys on board) :

P. S : Tried 0-100 with 4 guys in my 800 CC bone stock Kwid and it was 20 plus seconds!!!

I got to drive around 400 KM in last 2 days and the performance was brilliant. It was effortless to keep up with bigger Germans .

I did test my car on a road closed for public and the car was accelerating pretty quick even at higher speeds. Post the testing, I drove with heavy right foot for around 35 KM on NICE Road and then drove straight to Mysore.

Resting for some time : after WOT run on NICE Road!!

Congrats not just to the car but for your enthusiasm. This would be the car to steal after you are done with everything

Haha thanks buddy. There were many instances when I thought should have bought a VAG. This car is not so mod friendly, but I am not giving up

Special thanks to BHPian Jaunthead for giving his stock 1.6 S-Cross to do some logging

During our S-Cross meet yesterday, I got a chance to compare in gear acceleration of stock vs remap.

80-120 kmph with 2 guys

4 th gear :

Stock : 9.1 seconds
My car (Wolf remap + downpipe) : 6.4 seconds

The difference is huge!! 2.7 seconds gain is not a joke
