I have booked Creta Nline N10. Various reviews suggest that Nline's headlights are not sufficient for highways. I searched for LED headlight upgrades or any alternative way to increase the light ( Auxillary) but found little information.
I would appreciate it if members could share any upgrades they have made to their Nline or similar headlight cars.

Hi Everyone,
I have upgraded my 2014 Swift's Halogen headlight bulbs to the newly launched Philips Ultinon Weather Vision direct fit LEDs. |
Hey,
I am also looking to upgrade headlight of my 2013 swift, how is your experience with these till now? did you consider any other options like Bosch H 4?

Search for 3" projector fog lamp brackets for creta 2024. LED units being sealed cant be upgraded.
While I am against the use of LEDs in headlights, recent incidents and extensive use of LEDs by OEMs and aftermarket options forced me to upgrade to LEDs. Though stock halogens are more than adequate for me, I am constantly being blinded by oncoming LEDs, and my stock halogens are no match for them.
Now I have finally decided to upgrade to LEDs for my high-beam lights. Low beam projectors and fog lamps shall stay halogen as I still doubt LED performance in fog and rain. The high beam has H1 bulbs, around 55 Watts.
What is the suitable replacement for LEDs in terms of brand, wattage, warranty etc? Any help in this regard is appreciated.

Creta Nline bumper has a different design and no bracket is available for Nline
Getting option to install behind the grill with some modification, which I don't want .
Hopefully some option for nline will be available soon.
I have a 4th Gen Honda City running on stock headlights. I am looking for an upgrade.
My high beam has HB3 and low beam has H11 bulbs.
I want something that is brighter than stock but I am okay with it not being very bright due to limited highway usage.
What would folks here recommend?
My understanding is that for an LED setup I will have to replace both the pair of headlights, I will prefer replacing just one or going for Osram/Philips halogen to keep cost in check. Please suggest the best way forward, thanks!

I would recommend a halogen setup for the City's reflector setup. After having used good LED bulbs in projector setups eg Osram 50W I still prefer higher power halogens since I have realised that though LEDs are obviously brighter but the range of throw, beam focus and hotspot intensity esp for high beams is better in halogens due to the omnidirectional light output of a halogen bulb that better utilises the reflector optics wether in a reflector only setup or a projector setup. The bidirectional output of LED bulbs severely compromise this throw and further since the light emission of halogen bulbs are extensively multispectral it ensures better reflectivity from different objects. In contrast LED bulbs have far more controlled emission spectrums that enhances reflectivity from certain objects their overall reflectivity is not as good as halogen. And remember seeing is a function of reflection and not light intensity. That is why space contains all the light that is emitted by stars but appears black as long as there is no object to reflect it. LEDs are brighter by far and appear so when viewed up front or at close range but that for me has not translated into better visibility where it matters that is at distance).
For significantly better low beam Swap the H11 with a H9 bulb (65W). The Lumen rating of a H11 bulb is in the range of 1450 Lumens whereas that of H9 bulb is 2100 Lumnes. For perspective a 100/90 H4 bulb has a Lumen rating of around 2300 Lumens. The extra 10w will draw less than 1 Amp of extra current in the circuit hence no relays are reqd either. A minor DIY mod is reqd for the base tabs of the H9 to fit in the H11 socket. Extremely easy and all it requires is a small wire cutting or sniping plier. You can check the process on Youtube readily.
For the HB3 bulb (std 1850 Lumens) the cheap solution is to go for 100W HB3 bulbs with relay. Since the high beam is not always used one can be judicious with it. The CItys headligh reflector assembly is a large one and the extra heat is readily dissipated in the larger dual beam assembly. Problems of extra heat sometimes arise in small assemblies and housings where the heat dissipation is compromised. Otherwise the best option is to go for a 9011 HIR1 bulb. It is not available in India but it is easy to import one from Amazon.com. Look for Philips 9011 HIR1 bulb. The lumens output of the HIR1 bulb is around 2500 Lumens. Will cost around 7K for a pair for direct import including shipping, duties and Custom charges.
If further enhancement is desired and you want the close range brightness of LED or overall brightness of HIDs then change the Fog Lamps to a good projector fog like an IPH 617 Fog Light. Will cost you 8K to 12 K. But the results are really good. If you want cheaper but very effective upgrade get a IPH 612 projector fog lamp without bulbs. It costs around 2.5K. The bulb base of this is H11. Buy H9 bulbs and mod and install them. It has a high low beam function connector wires which you can plug to the high beam circuit for the solenoid operation in the projector to switch beams. You will be surprised.
Hi folks,
not sure if this is the right forum to ask this since I am relatively new - but I am trying to locate a shop in Pune to address a DRL fault in my headlights which seems to have been the result of wading in water. My model is a GLA 200 2017. The merc dealership wants me to replace the entire headlight cost at an astronomical amount and I am struggling to find a place that can just repair it.
My headlight itself is fine, so regular driving isn't an issue but the indicator for the DRL and right side indicator keeps coming up.
If you know a shop that is reliable here let me know please.
Hello All,
I have a Jeep Compass 2018 Limited model with projector setup. I have recently changed to LED headlight. The fitted ones are from a company called HOD and it is 200W(100W*2).
My question is :
a)Does it affect my battery(74 DIN)?
b)Is there a chance of overheating and will this be a safety hazard?
Thanks in advance.

This was the best guidance for City - thanks! I read a lot about this at various sources, and your perspective made the most sense. I am surprised how less popular the H9 bulb is. I had troubles procuring it. I finally received it today, and was able to install it also (post the DIY). I can see a good enough change in the visibility (does not seem to be 50% more, maybe 30% better which is good enough for my city needs), but I have not gotten a chance to test this fully yet.
I also installed on Nighteye LEDs on my other City - and while the White colour looks gorgeous and the brightness has gone up, the visibility seems to be only slightly better than the previous H11 bulbs.
Will share final a more informed feedback after thorough usage.

I have 5th Gen City with Projector lamps, the car shop i visit is recommending to replace my Low Beam lights with Moco h7 228W, with 28000 Lumens.
As per him it is a direct swap, no cutting or replacing of wires. It is having cooling fans in it.
A pair comes to around 12k.
He saying replace both High Beam and Low beam with the same.
Does you suggest this a better option?
Anyone upgraded their Innova Crysta GX headlights/Fog lights to LED ones?
2 years with the car and I have realised that the headlight is not making me see better at night on the highway and with the oncoming headlights, I am really struggling an need better headlights for both high and low beams and fog lights too if need be.
Also, will the upgrade to LED lights void the warranty? I still have 3 years of warranty left.

I’ve changed the headlights on my 2014 Swift with Osram’s 4300k 50w LEDs. The headlights are now almost twice more powerful and properly calibrating the cut off line has resulted in no glare to oncoming traffic. I’ve not been flashed once and I’ve had these lights for the past 8-9 months now.
If you are comfortable with some wiring changes though, then I would also suggest looking into upgrading the fog lights with some projector LED fogs you get nowadays. These have much better cutoff and may be better than changing the headlights directly.
Cheers

I had them in my Jeep Compass and they are pretty decent. On the Jeep though the projector lenses were milky so their effect was a bit muted. You will get much better results with other cars with clear lenses or reflectors.
On my Jeep I had got good results from 3 inch IPH M617 tri colour projectors which outshined the headlights and I was very happy with them. 3 inch Led projectors are really good and Aes, GTR and IPH have pretty good ones and they are available in the 8-10k INR range. |
Hi Behemoth. After reading about AES FX2 being better than many out there, I am told AES FX2/FX3 are single color fog lights and AES FX is the 3 colour one.
Would you know if it's good enough or should I look at something else? I have a XUV300 and am looking to get a 3 color fog light to drive through Delhi's fog/rains.
