Re: Safari engine on tata sierra

Agree with what Condor says.
The major roadblock with the Safari engine will be the proper installation of the sensors, unless you have got all the ECU Hardware and Software documenation, so called Technical Customer Documentation from Delphi for this engine.
Not worth the efforts and subsequent headaches.

Hi Condor,

Thanks for your suggestion.

The power/torque of the TCIC engine is more than sufficient for the Sierra. You will also have a trouble-free, electronics-free, purely mechanical engine that is already at home in the Sierra.

Sirjee kyon bacche ko sharminda kar rahe ho

I have a 1999 Indica DLE (V1- 4Speed GB), done about 35000 kms, I wanted to plonk a 5Speed GB and a turbo engine along with P.S. (Cant sell the car, as its got immense senti value attached.) Now if I go through the recon route? What happens to the RC of the car ?

And what exactly is the difference between Bare engine and Short Block?

Let me check on both these points. From what I know, the new engine is likely to come from factory with same number. I say this based on the experience of an old TBHP member who had to get the Chassis replaced. Tata asked for the original chassis number, and gave a replacement chassis with the same number.

Give me a couple of days. I will check this out & let you guys know.
