Hey paras..

Which intake and exhaust do you have ? I think for stages there are few other things to do also. you cant just change cams for performance.

You could expect a gain of about 10% with 1. Stage 1's giving you lift of about 9.6mm I/T & 9.3mm E/X.

Supposedly 15% with stage 2. Lift of about 10.05mm at I/T & E/X. But I don't know if stage 2 would work great at 270 degree lift angles, for a Corolla. Corolla's factory tuned for midrange, not top end.

Erm...Jeetu bhai? Keshav bhai??

Hi,

You are getting a pair of cams in that price?????????????. Which brand. You can expect a 7-9 % gain if setup correctly.

why is everyone talking in terms of percentage gain? How can you even quantify an engine component's effect in such general terms?

What are stock cam specs? Also if it is only advertised duration, then there is not much you can deduce from it.

Ananth, cams that offer 10mm of lift with 270 degree duration & above would be classified as fast cams, and they usually bump up the output by a given percentage W.R.T engine capacity, if combined with appropriately rated springs, followers, etc....we cannot specify an "X" cam for "Y" bhp, right? Hence the approximate figures.

Your headers will be useless with a 272. You will probably need some headwork done to fully appreciate the cam. And maybe a rev-limiter change.

I think the stock Toyota valvetrain should be upto the task.

with a 270 you wont need to change springs but try the current headers and see if they are too far out before changing them. Would also mention the 270 would be the best bet for a daily drive you might face a few idling issues though.

the stock ecu will work or i ill need some thing? would a device that controls the afr and and the vvti timing be enough or i would need a standalone? is it possible to get the rev limiter off in the corolla? right now the peak power is just before the limiter you can feel the power dip .

would this be ok
Brand new from Power Enterprise, the CamCon unit controls numerous Toyota/Lexus and Honda/Acura models equipped with variable valve timing (iVTEC or VVTi or VVTLi). It allows the user to modify valve timing and fuel mixture at 500RPM increments throughout the rev range. It also allows the user to change the crossover point on VTEC vehicles only. Take full advantage of your other mods by tuning your VVT, iVTEC, or VTEC and fuel mixture for maximum power.

What you are talking about is something similar to a Vtec Controller. Pointless on a car with stage one mods.
