Hi all,

So those were the pics in my previous post. I have totally modified my 2000 model Esteem VX to Type III Esteem.
Costs -
1) Bonnet Grill - 4500
2) H.L - 5200
3) Front bumper - 3000
4) Front indicators - 300
5) Side indicators - 250
6) Rear Lights - 4000.
7) Full repainting - 15000.
8) Misc - 3000

TOTAL - 35k.

Iam very much confident of the heart of my esteem, so only i went for these modds. In the end seeing the work I thought the price was worth it. I dont know how I could hold back from buying a swift diesel ... i was so tempted.... but then .... here i saved straight 5.5 lacs !!!! And tell u what Esteem was/is and will be Maruti's luxury car ..............

I am also having an esteem vx 1998 model, 2007 Jan I went for a total facelift of my baby, what sam has stated as for the dough he has spent seems to be fair enuf. I did spend around 10 K more as the paint I have used was very costly is Midnight Black with specs of gold. So when the car is in broad daylight it has a amazing shine. I havent gone for any performance mods though, infact am waiting for some discussion on the cost of FFE, headers, etc.

cheers:

You bet !! Why don't you get her a FFE and a conical/performance filter considering you still haven't gotten them.

Excellent work for the price, Sam. She looks real good. I have one question though. How did you manage to fit the new grille onto the old bonnet ? Or did you replace the bonnet as well ? Just curious as I dont see that in your list.

One more suggestion. Go in for the fog lamps and the rear spoiler and she would be a true VXi.

hey nitrous its not a gap yaar. since its a clear lens h.l it feels as if there is a gap in snaps. but actually its not so. alignment is perfect. in fact even people in my apartment, kids to elder people, have come asking for a treat for buying a new vehicle.

yeah and ill be changin tyres too. and apholstery as well. see i wanted to maintain the original esteem look. thats why i aint go for other exterior changes. and fyi i had a rear spoiler previously. had enuf of it so this time aint go for it this time.

anyway thanks for the comments.

hey yaar actually bonnet grill i had meant bonnet+grill. so in fact i had changed the whole set - bonnet and grill. this grill otherwise wont suit the old bonnet.

fog lamps of course im going for it. Spoiler as i said ... i like this look .....

and cud anyone plz explain more about FFE and those performance filters and their costs ....

Hey Sam... The car looks gorgeous. The choice of paint is also great. Congrats for job well done.

Get a new set of tyres if you are still running on the OE JKs, they are really shoddy and I am having a tough time with it (Need to change them ASAP). I'd suggest that you go for atleast 185's for better handling/comfort.

Cheers!

Very nice work indeed.Good transformation and nice paint job.

Now Go for a pop-up sunroof from webasto.Should cost you no more than 9k.

And go for some nice 14" alloy wheels with some wide rubber.

Thanks for clarifying Sam. However, I am simply not able to digest the fact that the H.L assembly costs more than the bonnet plus the grill put together !
