are there any good places in bangalore where they repair bent rims?
asked at A1, they don't do. wonder if madhu's do.

Picking up a new one would be a good idea, if you meant stock rims. If you are talking about alloys, most of the alloy dealers can get it done for you at a price.
Where in bangalore can i get the wheel arches for the Zen modified. I mean i want to get the metal rolled in?
Something like this:
arch rolling and arch flaring
My regular MASS (Smart Cars) has refused to modify it...Also how much damage would it cause to the paint and the metal in the surrounding area since i got the car painted and body worked recently.

rj, currently I'm on stock wheels.
probably sometime next month(salary :)) I'm going for esteem rims + tubeless tyres, before that I got a trip to do, so I thought it would be better if my current rims are in better shape.
roadside puncture wallas hit it hard with hammer to remove the bends :(
I would be doing a selective replacement of my stock steel rims (they are 4J 13") as im thinking of upgrading rims and rubber once the currents are worn out.
Im thinking of doing rim checkup and replacement at Suraksha on Hosur raod, but alignment and balancing @ Madhu's in a day or two.
What you guys suggest?

Yes not a bad idea. I have seen few zens running on esteem stock rims and a 155 tyre. These guys didnt wany to invest in alloys and still wanted big and wide wheels. I am not sure about wheel well scrapping issues. PM

Guys, after thinking a lot about selling the engine i have finally made up my mind on keeping the engine, so i wanted more power of the car, i was currently using a carb on a 16v engine with esteem gearbox, i knew the car wasnt running as it should coz i wasnt using mpfi, so 1st thing i did was went to maruti suzuki sai service parts division and got my self oversized pistons, rings ,engine gasket set etc,all parts required for an overhaul. Now i am thinking of two options:
1. getting a twin carb setup as currently using esteem carb which was 8v so i know my carb is using only 8v and not being fully utilised, ( i am honestly very scared to convert carb car to mpfi as i am unsure about reliability ) dont want to end up stranded in the middle of the night with a failed ecm, so i have given the block to be re bored oversized to .20 now i am confused as to wat to do? should i go infor twin carb setup i.e by making a custom intake manifold intake or should
2. go mpfi by adding used used ecm, wiring injectors etc, cost of goin to mpfi is about 16k only for parts ( with new wiring rest all old ) and twin carb is also about 10 + k as the manifold which'll need to be custom designed will cost 7-8k BUT there might be an issue of both the carbs touching eah other, plues ill need another filter for the other carb,
i am confused wat to do, my block will be back in 2 days after being re bored and then i need to take a call, cant keep the car in the garage forever, please help, any ideas on Webber cars and pricing ?
Also getting a front strut bar installed.
3. and also need help on brakes, will esteem type 2 brakes fit directly as a bolty on? also i had read somewhere on t-bhp about aftermarket brakepads by some company which had the word "green" in it, can someone throw some light on it ?
4. also how does an aluminium flywheel help ? i am getting a used aliminium flywheel for 7 or 9 k ? is it worth it ? its lifted of a zen that had a twin cam engine.

if i have to convert to mpfi and buy new parts here is a list of prices i got from sai service:
Fuel injectors: 1625 *4
Ecm euro 2: 21000
wiring :8500
manifold :17400
throttle body: 7500
same parts you can get in the used market for about 15-17k, but again thats used and this is new, please suggest guys, i need the car to be a fast street car not a race car.
zeeshah, no need to take the mpfi route - you can run your car very reliably using a carb setup - 2 carbs are recommended if you want a really fast car - however you could try experimenting with jet sizes on a single carb to get the performance right.
Another thing you might also want to do is remove the vacuum actuator for the secondary butterfly and instead make a link plate - so that the secondary butterfly opens at say 30-40% of the primary butterfly opening - experiment with this to get the right link plate size - do this till your throttle response and AFR is right.
A small tip - try and get your hands on an O2 sensor - narrow band will do just fine, and use it to tune the AFR makes life more simpler and you don't need to be a carburettor tuning guru to get the AFR right then. You can buy a o2 sensor from some bosch parts store - would cost you around 1k (don't buy from car dealerships - there it'd cost much more!) . Connect a voltmeter(buy a cheap multimeter in case you dont have one) to the o2 sensor terminals and measure the voltage - it should vary from 100mV to around 1V with the AFR, 400mV is where the AFR is around 14.7, higher voltage is richer and lower is leaner)

ill speak to my tuner about the o2 sensor, i dont mind goin in for the twin carb setup, but when we calculated with measurements after making a new manifold and installing 2 carbs ( zen or esteem carb) both the carbs touch each other, if we make the manifold wider then it wont deliver hence m stuck, have tried all jetting earlier on but still its not dat quick as it should be.

Any one has fitted fogs for carb zen. i checked with local mechanic. He advised that, need to fit a front extra fitting for adding fogs and total would cost around 1.7K
Kindly share experience of fitting fogs to zen.please:

Specify which model you own?? for the typeII there is slot for fogs on bumpers.

How a Carb Zen could be TYPE II?
However I have a query - can type II bumpers be fitted in a type I zen?

Type I was with carb.
Type II was with 16 Bit ECM.In this there was only 1 rear for light at the back next to the silencer.
Type III was with odd shaped headlamps , rear tail lights .This model also had two round fog lamps up front and two rear fog lamps integrated in bumper at the back .
@archat68 : Yes you can swap the bumpers .Just the indicators up front will have to be shifted to clearance lights with the wiring in case of Type III swap.
For type II swap i guess type I and type II were more or less same.
