Aveo U-VA - looking for mods

I have a 6 month old Aveo U-VA 1.2 LS. Done around 4k on the odo. Have 14" alloys with Pirelli Drago P5000 tires. The only mod on the car is a stock replacement K&N air filter.

I recently bought and installed ScanGauge II on it. It is helping a lot in giving me a run down on the engine operation. Am looking at the possible mods on the car now.

Can the experts suggest some? If anyone has done some mods to a U-VA, can you please come up with the details?

There are some body kits, chrome plating, spoilers etc available at the dealer itself.
The U-VA looks like it has a lot of mod potential, but I havent seen any being done so far!

I know that now you have a FFE in your U-VA!

I too just got a K&N Universal(conical) high flow air filter with CAI(aluminum pipe) fitted in my mom's U-VA.

And the performance is amazing!
You can drive like any other person at ~2K RPM. But when you floor it, the low frequency 'Brrrrrr' sound is amazing.

Also the pickup improvement is noticeable even with the A/C on.
Will test out the top speed with this later.

Thanks dreamcatcher but I'm already a regular at cardomain.com. There are some pretty impressive body/cosmetic mods and I am not interested in them - All buck and no bang

Hey sohail - Great to know the air intake you have gotten in place. I am planning to do an intake mod myself but I am still working out the best approach (universal conical, CAI, dual pipe induction etc.). This one is likely to be a DIY! Can you post more details and some pics of the intake you have now on your mom's U-VA?

Neat install. Incidentally this is a SRI install and not a CAI as far as I understand. This would give you better performance at higher RPMs and a good induction roar. How is the driveability at lower RPMs on the car?

I am planning to spend this weekend doing my air intake mod with a spare airbox I have bought from the dealer. Let's hope nothing messes up my plans.

Oops! yes, this indeed is a SRI! (got confused b/w the two! :o)

The induction roar is like a 'wow' factor for me!(I've actually stopped listening to music and listen to the 'roar' instead! )

At lower RPMs :-

Sound wise - its really silent(below 2-2.3K RPM)just as it used to be with the stock filter.

Performance wise - Engine is quite responsive now. And driveability with the A/C on has also improvement. (unlike the situation before, the engine still remains responsive)

What I liked about the performance change is, that the 'power on demand' is readily available now(even with the A/C on, flooring the throttle(tested in 3rd gear) will push you back in the seat! )

At no point the car feels sluggish. And overtakes are now a lot easier.

Good stuff dude! I'm all set to chop up my air box tomorrow afternoon . Worse case, if my DIY does not work, I can always get a branded CAI or SRI. Keeping my fingers crossed! After my FFE, the air intake feels like a point of restriction.

just a bit OT here sorry, but could not fail noticing the coil pack. It looks exactly the same as my Corsa !

May be next time, instead of getting an after market coil for 2K ( the original costs 15k at the A.S.S (and is not available to buy !)) I could try sourcing a genuine one for Avevo and try it, is its way lesser than 15K

and I dont see any sensor on the air intake ( before the throttle body ), is it hidden ?

Rest assured - any aftermarket filters would void the warranty

Lucky you! I think the warranty terms on the manual would be the best place to refer. For me, the dealership specifically told me that the warranty would be void by using the SRF I have. So I would just swap my filters before every service until the warranty lasted
