100/90 is absolutely safe..
i guess you dont need a relay for 100 Watts. anything above that, you need one.

i have 100w high and 80w low on my palio. No relay or anything. been workin just fine :)

nothing beats Wattage.IMHO, investing on white and blue 55/60 is just a waste of money.

desmoquattro, which palio do you own. I have a palio D and wud like to replace my headlamps. How long have you been using these high wattage bulbs? Also wud you know the OE ratings on palio. Please throw some more light on it.

I guess all these lights mentioned here are double filament and so cannot be used on the palio as palio has two separate bulbs for high and low beams. Correct me if I am wrong coz stupid: . Are the bulbs on you ride single filament?

1.2 ELX

4 bulbs
2 high, 2 low. Yes, all of them are single filament bulbs.
Been using these for arnd 3 months now. They work just right :)

The OE is prolly 60 W

The only other car which prolly shares the bulbs with Palio is the Optra (Its got different headlamps for highbeam and lowbeam)

I use the 95/110 watts phillips Rally on my Scorpio and for highway driwing there is nothing better than it considering that i am on the move every couple of weeks in the hills etc. And I bet on them , they are amazing. Wide beam and any buff. crossing over the moon can be spotted with these ones. However, many people disagree the use of these in the sity as they are blinding sometimes. So, i would suggest put these only if yuo are on the highway a lot.

Here are the pix..As you can see, they are pretty good, more than enough for city driving. I don't drive on the highways much at night so till now i don't have any probs with it. There are also a wee-bit more powerful thant he Crystal Visions i think...

Low Beam

Which brand bulbs are you using mate. and how much did they cost you.?

Guys,
I understand everybody wants to drive Safe and wants better headlights, better vision on the road.

But with such bright head light ON, did u guys everthink what will happen to the guy who is coming from the opposite direction.

I see many guys driving around with very POWERFUL head light/search lights.. they really give a damn to the bikers/ other cars coming form the opp direction.

please: Keep you headlight well focused if U have have one of those Search lights.

2. Does the 2000 Lancer come pre-wired for a 3rd brake lamp?
3. If it doesn't, where should the pick-up point be for the retrofitted lamp?
4. Should I install the LED lamps, regular bulb, or just leave well enough alone?

Would appreciate your quick answers...

1.I have no experience with the Lancer, but the problem seems to be amore generic one so the solution should work. It seems that the Relays are not working properly. Try to fit uprated relays, that should do the trick, also check if there is any sparks in the switches. Just get the electrician to dismantle it and check for damages. This should take kcare of the problem.

But do this ASAP, we do not want another Good ole lancer to end up in ashes.:p

2. I am not sure about this one.

3. If there is no pick up point the mechanic will actually use new wire to the retrofitted one from the existing stop lamp wirings in the boot.

4. If you want to Install a third stop lamp go for the led based one. As they consume much less power that the filament bulb ones.

I'd like to Change my O.E bulbs for my Siena (2000) model . Any suggestions ?

Fixed 90/100 GE bulbs in my 800 around a month back and the bulbs rock.Perfect for highway driving.Had fixed a cut out long back so did not need that.Costed my 150 bucks per bulb. Now even the truck drivers lower their lights when i flash mine:)

I just installed the Crystal Vision 2day....on my Baleno.....It does not seem 2 be havin tat 30% increase in power.....
Actually its seems worse than the normal bulbs...

Here's my review abt the bulb....
Its got really gud lightin in pitch dark where aint any lamp posts around....
Its really poor when the road is lit up with a lot of lamp posts around
It does not seem 2 hav tat glarin effect....even when u stare right into the lights......
In a scale of 10 i will rate it 2 be 6.5/10.......
If it only had some more brightness the ppl will being 2 respect u......

I am thinkin on returnin the bulbs and tryin out Diamond Vision....
Does Diamond Vision hav the same kind of lighting.....
Or is it better...Does any1 have it installed....
Plz give me review on it......

buddy, you could go in for Philips/ GE 100/90 W bulbs with cut outs and good quality bulb holders (ask for heavy-duty ones) or if you still want more there are the 130/100 W Rally bulbs (specially for the hi-ways)

:) az

Has any1 fitted Osram Cool Blue H4 headlamps....

Does it feel the same like Philips or is it better...
Plz reply..
Thanks
