Thanked: Once

I got a pair of Roots Vibrosonics for my Wagon-R. The stock horns were so feeble that even dogs and cats would not budge from the road. I encounter a stray dog everyday in my lane while driving out and usually have to drive around it as it would be lying in the middle of the road, ignoring all the honking. It was sweet revenge for me when I launched the guy outta the road by just one shot of the Roots Vibrosonics. The loud shrill irritating sound is good enough to get your path cleared. Now a days, I get the right of way, as I see the dogs getting out of the path as soon as I take my car out.

Both Hella Redgrill and Stebel Nautilus are equally loud.

If you go through the specifications, both the above horns are same db at the same distance.
BTW, I plan to install a Stebel Nautilus on my Corolla for regular city use.
Will it be too loud?
Is it against the law?
I dont want to mess with toggle switches cluttering the dash.

Depends on the traffic cops of the city you drive in. It is very loud. I don't use mine inside the city limits.

Please suggest a reasonably loud horn for my Vista Quadrajet. Also pl be kind enough to post a picture since the Tata service centre people are saying there is not enough space for a good horn. BTW, the default small one is behind the grill.

Hi GD,

Thanks for the info.

Is it a single piece or a box with two horns in it?

Do we need two of them or single is enough?

Please advice.

the indica has two horn install locations available , near where the fog lamp would be , below the headlights. the stock horn is on the driver side. Another location should be free on the other side.
Be sure to position the horn so as to avoid water gettin into it

Query:
Just got a stebel nautilius. Special thanks to ankit.
Now regarding the installation, shall i use the relay provided with the horn or get a bosch/roots relay? Any suggestions regarding the wiring specs? Planning to use 2.5sq mm wiring.

here's a picture of my hella redgrilles being installed. note that this is not the best location for these hellas - they're pretty water sensitive, And I'm hoping they wont die at the first hint of the monsoons. Else you can try in front of the radiator ( still prone to water damage) , or somewhere under the hood, near the firewall ( but the loudness will be less)
