Totally ! They have very distinct deep tone, something which is not irritating yet really loud. Mine were replaced without removing the bumper. BTW the guy has insulated the wires well with the black tape & earthed em as well. Any other precaution i should take? I am really cautious when it comes to electricals !

The overall job of removing and fitting back the bumper was the easiest thing to do , just 11 bolts/screw in total and 2 plastic locks.

With the bumper out of the way , one has all the time to place the horns at ease and test , I fixed the Minda's at the same location as stock with the stock wiring also.

The trumpets comes with a small harness to fix them up parallely which wasnt used in this case due to stock wiring being used.

Even I replaced my SX4 VDi horn some time ago, changed the OE to Hella black trumpet for 1100, lasted only 6 months

Changed to Minda and this one proved to be more durable than Hella.
Though Hella was amazing!

Today I got Roots Windtone horns installed on my Figo tdci. For me, they are not bad as some of the bhpians said. The tone is just like the Skoda/VW horns. It costed me Rs.560/- + Rs.120/- for relay. The electrical guy sleeved the main horn wiring and installed the relay and took Rs.150/- labour. This will surely void my electrical warranty on my 6 month old Ford Figo.

Loved to hear the sweet tone and took a drive through lanes just to horn. Sorry for sound polluting.

I don't know if they have ready stock of the same. But I guess they can source it for you.

You could check at Sachin's Auto Shop in Koramangala. Near Sai Baba temple / Bosch.

You could contact either Kumar, Suraj or Manoj at the store. I don't have their numbers handy as I am in the US now. But if you are going to be around, then I can share it with you once I am back (this friday)

re: Power Horns!

Got roots vibrosonic installed but somehow the sound seems to a bit cracked/rough compared to the piercing tone that i heard in the demo one at the shop. The relay used is a roots one. So no problem there. Any leads?

@searchingheaven : Roots always comes with their own clamp and rubber washers. If they are not used or tightened way too much the sound changes from Ping to Pirrrrrrring. Check if the washers are installed and are not bolted too tight.

Agreed with YaeJay.

The fitting of the horns should be checked. A cracking sounds seems more like a loose fit than a tight one.

The tone would have been more piercing in the shop cos it was closer to your ear, than from under the hood.

The guy who gave the demo was 15ft away. Anyway its not the loudness that is missing. Its just that the sound is cracking. I mean its more irritating/hoarse than its piercing(it was piercing in the shop). I dont think doppler's effects is applicable since both the source and reciever are relatively stationery:-).
