I was merely a compiler of information from their posts in the Dude I bolted 25 BHP FAQ thread (Highly recommended read). Mclaren1885, Psycho, Sideways and v1p3r also corrected the article after compilation, so many thanks to them.

Dear folks,
I am new to team bhp. I have a question and would be very grateful if someone could help me. I have a scorpio mhawk 2.2. Its a 2wheel drive. Is there a way i can make it into a 4wheel drive and what kind of cost implifications will it have?

Thanks in advance.

I have a Chevy Optra 1.6 LS in hand which i plan to modify this weekend.

My budget is around 20K, and I'll be approaching Raj for my mods which would include an FFE and a CAI.

Can anyone give me a few pointers as to what I should be specific about and what I should look out for?

Thanks!

Am planning to remap my diesel Fiesta's ECU.

Also looking for a reputed place in Kolkata that will do it.
Any suggestions?

I hear the Bhp increases to 82. Any idea what that makes the 0-100 run in?

Hi I would like to know the benefits of porting and polishing done on an mpfi alto, carb zen and sumo victa. Can this be done as a DIY project and what are the materials needed for it.

I would not advise to port as a DIY job

To get the best result porting should be followed by flowing. The problem is that you should have a flow bench. Port matching must not be done on the exhaust side. Polishing must not be done on the inlet ports. The valves should preferably get a multi angle cut. At the same time they can be slightly recessed to allow higher compression without pocketing or additional pocketing of the pistons. Compression increase depends on the availability of the fuel.

The rate of porting depends on what you want to achieve and obviously is limited by the water ways. A lot of people tend to overport and lose some of the potential benefits.

To do the job you need a selection of grinding wheels with fairly long shafts.

I intend to go in for a stage 1 upgrade for my Swift - 06. Everything is running on stock except for the tyres, alloys and the Eng Oil - Mobil 1(syn).

List of mods intended and queries w.r.t the same :

01. Headers - Where is the best place to get this done in Bangalore ?

02. FFE
- Where is the best place to get this done in Bangalore ?

03. CAI/Universal - K&N or BMC
- Which of the 2 types and brands do I opt for ?

04. Spark Plugs and Cables - Where is the best place to get this done in Bangalore ?

05. K&N Oil Filters - How much of a significant change is seen after the upgrade from stock ?

06. Fuel Pressure Regulator - Is it worth getting it and which brand ?

If there is any other mods which I may have left out in the above setup, please do advise. It would be great it if anyone who as done any of the above mod/upgrade could point out the cost involved for the same.

I have gone through all posts related to the above mods in various other threads, but it has only confused me even further with regard to the setup of the mods and the place/names recommended. If somebody could shed some light on this once and for all, it would be great.

I am toying around with the idea of fitting a high performance air filter for my 8 year old lancer petrol, to give it some pep & perhaps better FE. Would welcome inputs & advice on the same please.

And as I have been reading about many of our bhpites, modifying their cars by using high performance air filters. But at the same time am wondering if any of today's auto maker use high performance filters like k&n or greencotton or whatever?

Looks to me most of them use paper air filters, definitely not the high performance ones, why?

^^High performance air filters are only slightly better than running without an air filter. Read maximum performance but minimum engine life.

Can anyone please answer these questions, especially on "where" it can be done in Bangalore.

Xryder, did you happen to get it done? Please let me know.

Thanks.

hi guys. i need help in modifying my 86' honda accord (imported Japanese model) steering assembly. its a manual box and it has been overhauled four times in the last 3 months to make it smooth and light. the steering remains as hard as a truck's steering. right now the verdict is that it is beyond repairs. i need guidance for the following:
1) can it be converted to a power steering set-up.
2) will it require major mods?
3) will parts be available here in mumbai?
4) who and where can i get it done in mumbai?
5) what would be the approximate cost?
it will be very helpful in deciding whether i hang on to the vehicle or dispose it off in as is condition.
thanks.

Hi iikish,

I deferred my decision to do the same due to some constraints.

When I do get about to it, will definitely keep you posted.

Cheers.

Thanks Xryder, i will also keep you posted if I get something on it.

Quite surprising that no one is responding, even though loads of Bangaloreans are on t-bhp.

I want to fit a MOMO Wooden steering wheel to a Swift ZXi. ZXi has air bags on the original steering wheel. My questions are:
  1. Can MOMO Wooden steering wheel be fitted to a Swift ZXi.
  2. If it can be fitted will the air bags still work?
  3. In case I am prepared to forego the Airbags, is it still possible to get the MOMO wooden steering fitted on the ZXi?
I request an opinion ASAP either thru PMS or an e mail to me.My e mail ID is csa063@gmail.com.
Thanks
