Preparation update:
Today - the qualifying was cut short by a few kms as the rider was caught with unlubed chain
I was supposed to get the remaining part of the gear and accessories yesterday!
But, bad rains yesterday made me postpone that to today.
Anyhow, I was to do this qualifying (!) lap on the road that I would be starting my SS.
Ok,
To sort it all in more sense making order:
Yesterday: 6 PM
I was all set to go to JC road- but then rain really got me stuck badly even before M'halli!
I had my office bag - and didnt want the stuff in it to get wet, so decided I will visit just Hypercity and nearby tyre shop and return for the day! (had to!)
So, I went and bought Formula 1 wax ! (went there, and had to pick something up there!)
While returning home - I went into Michelin store near Forum Value mall.
There I got the Sarv-Seal puncture repair kit for tubeless tires.
It has the boring tool+wick installation tool+measurement & cutting tool+5 wicks
Things bought:
Formula 1 wax-
320 INR
Sarveshawri puncture kit -
400 INR Today Morning 5 AM:
(Hawk - sorry about the mixup about the start point! - I will make for that later)
I was at BETL - took a toll receipt and started my journey.
The receipt has following details:
__
Entry from: e.g. Hosur Road
Exit to: e.g. Banerghatta Road
Time: 05:18:36 AM
Vehicle: Two Wheeler
Vehicle Number: WWWW << (It does not print actual number! and, I forgot to ask, if they can print it - If requested!)
__
So, I guess, that would be good enough to mark the start point of my trip and most probably trip end point too.
(as snap will be taken with Odo+Receipt)
Apart from that, Something I learnt-
When you go from a just-a-simple-windcheater-riding-a-bike to a geared-preotected rider you feel world of a difference!
I was not used to the weight, and the small things you can only notice- when actually you put on the armor!
for e.g.
When you wear those thick-heavy gloves - you should not try to grip on to the handles too much! you already have a good grip - just find a sweet spot, so you dont strain your wrist!
(thanks
rk_sans for that tip)
When you wear protective Jacket - you need some time to get used to even simple things like zipping things up and using your breathers well - depending on the weather, and time of the day.
When you wear a helmet - you should keep the visor down at most times - but mostly at night and dusk - when light is real problem - consider toggling it to open - or semi open for better visibility!
(thanks to
Ironhawk for these any many more nitty gritty tips)
There are many more! but - first hand experience is the best to teach you all that!
I suggest all budding riders and existing ones (who dont ride with gear!) (I was one o them - just a week before!)- to pick up safety gear and practice riding - SAFE!

About the bike setup:
Rk_sans helped me adjust the bike suspension to 2 notches (which I believe are) towards tighter setup
But, I noticed, the bike didnt sag as much as before, when I sat on it.
and, it was bit more stiffer over undulations - seeming good!
(but, later I got used to it - and, now its feeling normal!)
Seeing me indecisive about the suspension setup (as to keep it stock or tigher(!)), rk_sans was kind enough to lend me the suspension adjustment kit! (Thanks for that!)
___
The chain was very dry and for that I was determined to search some cleaning + lube solution.
I searched some shops at Jayamacharya Road ( aka JC road - lol)
Items bought on JC road and at Orion Motors (revisited):
1. Yamalube - 450 ml -
350 INR
2. WD 40 - 160 gm -
150 INR
3. Knee+Elbow guards (set2+2) -
2500 INR
4. Bungee cord - 40 inches (nice and strong one) -
400 INR <- (looks expensive to me, but, I was tired to go to another shop from there!)
5. Throttle cable + Clutch cable -
240 INR
6. NGK Spark plug (spare) -
105 INR
Oh, and I also visited Helmet Paradise - and got the difference back from previous purchase - Gloves (1990 INR instead of 2200 INR!)
So, that's all gear I am taking this ride with me!
I guess that's a good list for a basic bike.
So, I might make another 300+km run tomorrow - solo.
Thanks all for the prep work - substance as well as morale! (<assume a grateful smile smiley here!> )
