Please share details of before and after the first service.

I am eagerly waiting to complete 1000KM, trust me its test of a man's patience.
I would've completed 1000 long ago if not for 2+ weeks spent in a sling!

Just got my Duke serviced. Changed to Motul 20W50 FS. Marked difference in ride quality/Engine response.

Auto Service folks serviced the bike with utmost care and answered all my queries. Hats off to people like Venkat Shyam who always lends a patient ear to even the silliest of queries.

Gear shifts have become smoother. Never knew finding neutral was that easy, now it is easier.

I had to rush to the sticker place before it gets dark, so didn't ride long. Will do so later tonight!

Got rim tapes put! neat job done! for just 200 bucks!

Congrats bro and please pass on my regards to Venkat when you meet him next!

Motul 7100?

At the rate you guys are getting these tapes put on, soon it will be better to leave the rims stock for the "different" look.

Sure doc! I do meet him pretty often. Sometime for Duke stuff, Many times just for haal-chaal stuff!

Yes Motul 7100 it was! I would personally recommend this oil as well (though I am only a novice in this). Clear marked difference in the way engine is responding/sounding. Gear shifts now are what people keep saying out here and other places "butter smooth" I don't know if anything else (semi-synth or fresh mineral) would've made it like this as well.

Will be riding long and a bit hard later tonight to check more stuff.

Am curious to know of the "different look" <grin>

Just kidding man. It looks nice and is really cheap as well.

Just hope that it resists stone chips etc well, because on most other bikes when that happens these tapes look shabby, and frankly that is what has put me off.

Quite possible for it to chip off. But being a 200 buck installation, wont pinch hard if we were to think of replacing it.

The one's at the KTM store "original" stuff costs a bomb though. 1200 bucks or so?

You are talking about paint chipping off from rim or the sticker ? because sticker can be easily removed and replaced. I don't think it will affect the rim anyway, or i am missing something here ?

True neon tape - once it binds with a painted surface - always comes off with the paint. It is almost impossible removing/splicing it off cleanly.

The chips may be of the tape only. But to replace with new tape, you would need to remove the entire old tape first. That is what I am not very sure of.

The tape doesn't seem like it will cause any damage to the finish of the rim. But a stone could damage the rim

And i don't think the paint quality is so inferior as to peel off with the tape.

Ya that i have felt with these tapes in my bike, that it gets very hard after a while. But i feel with generous amount of water and soup it can be removed without damaging the paint. But you are right after it gets chipped off in many places it does look bad.

I have been on this oil (7100) for a little over 10,000 kms and like you mentioned the gear shifts are smooth and the engine revv's freely and feels so very refined.

Previous to this i was on semi synth 15w50 5100 from motul. Good oil but the 7100 is miles ahead in terms of performance. There was very little difference between the mineral and the 5100.

Sticker - Another Ninja got its rim tapes done today And the place is diagonally opposite Autoshop Koramangala.

You are right, I checked my friends Duke who is on semi - and could feel the difference. We went on a ride to Airport and back (at 2:30 am) and I could feel the difference better.

Grade is 20W50 100% synthetic. It is not available at the service center (at least here) I had bought 2 liters of this from the new Motul store that opened up in Bangalore.
