Here is a shot of my baby.

Congrats and lovely lovely color!clap: Loved it more than the Old Tri-Colour.

BTW. This paint scheme is not coming with ABS? Is it only for the Black, red and the Repsol?

Oh yes, this looks much better then the old tri-color. I find this even better than the Repsol color .
Ya, it comes with Abs also .

Ouch! 2.2Ls for ABS! A bit too steeply priced for its spec!

Yup, 30+ k difference between standard and Abs versions. REPSOL , only for color, its around 8k more.

But if money is not an concern i feel Abs should be the version to go for if someone plans to use it in all kind of weather.

Cheers

Yes. 30K is the price you will be paying for your safety. Also, from the feedback of STD owners, who tried the ABS version, the Nissin calipers in the ABS version offer more bite and feedback, even without the ABS kicking in, than the standard calipers. It comes with a better set of brake pads. If I am not wrong the Nissin pads are costlier too.

So the brakepads for standard and Abs version are different ?
If that's the case can we swap the brake pads.

Cheers

Yes. The ABS pads costs more than the standard one (Around 1.7k for the pair? Not sure). But you wont be able to put the ABS pads on STD or vice versa because the front ABS caliper is a 3 pot setup compared to the 2 pot of the STD.

Calipers are different so pads cannot be swapped.

Sorry to say, this shows the FAQ in the first page is completely gone useless for you. Had you gone through them, you wouldn't be asking this question here!!

That is my personal choice as well. Neither do my car or any of my motorcycles come with ABS. For sure I do not want a pre-configured chipset to control my braking which makes me feel like am riding an alien stupid:

Hugely helpful and confidence inspiring in the wet. But again from what I have read (and therefore practiced) best shut off (if you can) while offroading or on gravel.

Not exactly. On well paved surfaces, read other than wet/snowy surfaces; ABS equipped vehicles have a shorter braking distance w.r.t non ABS ones. The distance increases in wet/snowy conditions, but gives you the option of safely steering the bike without locking the wheels.
To me, saving my limbs is more precious than 30k. I feel its absolutely worth it.

Quoting all 3 guys -

My all Cars are equipped with ABS & other safety parameters.

But on bikes, I haven't. Maybe I can't brake as efficiently as a chip and I agree to it (as said by Divya) but I didn't want to unlearn my braking.

On loose surface ABS DOES increase braking distance. Have experienced this on Cars.

The CBR 250R is quite okay off road considering it is a faired on-road bike.

Let ABS be standard across. We would be forced to buy one, but please make a switch as one present on D-390 to switch it off.

Yup, I'd be surprised if CBR 250R doesn't have a switch for the same. Apache RTR 180 ABS version has it!

Recently in an FB community saw a post that a guy on a CBR ABS did a panic braking(I think he was mentioning about application of front brake only) at around 40-50kmph and the bike did a stoppie, front tyre screeched and he was thrown overboard. He is suggesting that its a faulty ABS system.

But my question is the ABS in fault here? If he has applied only the front brake too hard under panic there is a chance that the bike did a stoppie right? Obviously, whether an ABS bike does a stoppie or not completely depends on the way the ABS is programmed. Bus as far as I know, CBR's system detects only the tire speed variations and modulate the braking. Or does it actually prevent stoppies on application of front brakes?

Its a simple case where the ABS System has gone Kaput. He should be in a position to sue Honda for its malfunction had it been in the US. Here we have the chalta hai attitude:eek:

You cannot do a stoppie on a bike with a functioning front wheel ABS. Scary stuff, though it sounds weird. Its more likely the front wheel will wash out than the bike do a stoppie. I think that's what actually happened, and the stoppie bit is a little bit of a glamor quotient to an embarrassing fall (40-50kmph - really?!!!! ..... :)).

But with a functioning ABS, the bike is not even supposed wash out! And regarding the stoppie thingy, there were even guys asking if it was a normal stoppie or a rolling stoppie! :Frustrati
