Re: Ninja 300R and 400R to be launched. EDIT: SCOOP Pics on Pg 2

Was contacted by KTM Chennai today, had asked them to let me know when bookings open and they did so promptly.

Booking amount 40k
Colors: Green & White (No Black!)
No ABS
Delivery within 2 months, showroom model arriving by end of month.

Not sure if I'm still interested, not getting the color I wanted and no ABS either.

Aditya,
Would that mean the new model commands a premium of 73K? Would it not be quite a lot of money for an upgrade!

Or would the additional features actually command it then?

AFAIK, the bikes that would be on sale here would be the non-ABS version.

That said, the pricing is on the higher side.

I do love the alloy wheel design and the digi console but the R15'ish side profile looks just doesn't click for me.

But with a split seat setup, the handling might have gone even better, yep the passenger will now be seated in the balcony from what I can visualize with those high rear seat

Ninja 250R had the split seat design from 2008 onwards. I don't see much difference between this one and the outgoing model on the seating perspective. Am i missing something?

Well all speculations would end on 10th. I spoke to probikng Pune and there a lady told me that the prices could be in the range of 3.25 to 3.75 lakhs (ex showroom) where as the probikng manager Mr Preet at Chandigarh has quoted a price around 3.50 Lakhs (Ex Showroom).

That's really sad that only the white and the green is on option. I so wanted to have the black. Its subtle looks will ensure you a trouble free ride through city traffic and random people disturbing it when its parked.
Anyways I guess once the initial sales are done they will launch the black, may be after 6 months or so. I hope they do.
Green and white are hot and definitely crowd puller.
I suddenly noticed there are a lot of Ninja 250 up for sale in Chennai, is it a coincidence?

I would have loved black simply because i dont particularly like the detached fairing effect on the new Ninja. Black would have made it feel like on big fairing.

I'm happy they brought in white atleast, and not just the green.

A friend waiting to book one on the launch date, has been quoted a price of approx 3.8-3.9L on road in Mumbai. Seems pretty much in line with the prices quoted elsewhere as well.

Only if Bajaj could have launched the Special Edition. It looks cool with the black graphics on the green body. I guess in India we cant be real choosers compared to the International market.
