re: Royal Enfield Bullet 500 - NEW model coming. EDIT : Launched @ 1.53 Lakhs

Here are some pics for the Bullet 500 Twinspark. Saw both the colours on display at Kay Tee Automobiles, Mahipalpur, Delhi. On Road as per the dealer is Rs. 155,000. Tank seems to be of a bigger capacity which the dealer claimed to about 17Ltrs as against 13.5Ltr on the website. Tyres come straight from the classic and there's a huge gap between the rear wheel and the mudguard imparting an under-tyred look to the rear. Pics attached..

re: Royal Enfield Bullet 500 - NEW model coming. EDIT : Launched @ 1.53 Lakhs

Anyone has test driven the new 500 carb model. I would like to get some feedback on how the power delivery is compared to the classic 500 and Thunderbrid 500.

When I checked with the local dealer in Hyderabad, they were not sure when it is going to be launched here.

re: Royal Enfield Bullet 500 - NEW model coming. EDIT : Launched @ 1.53 Lakhs

abhishek24x, thanks for the pics! So it looks like color options are going to be green with gold trim and black with whit trim?

Now waiting for first ride impressions and comparisons to CL500 & older RE 500s.

Also, any idea what markets will this model be available in? RE advertising mentions this model will only be available in selected markets.

Thanks!

re: Royal Enfield Bullet 500 - NEW model coming. EDIT : Launched @ 1.53 Lakhs

Royal Enfield launches an updated Bullet 500 in India today.

On offer is a carbureted 500cc Unit Construction Engine (UCE), 40.9 Nm torque, Forest Green body shade, new pillion backrest, front disc brakes and electric start. The 130 mm telescopic front suspension has gas shock absorbers. The hand-painted tank now adorns silver decals, while the headlight nacelle encases 55w headlamps.

The Bullet 500 is available at Rs. 153,855 (on-road, Delhi). It will be launched in a phased manner across the country, initially available only in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi-NCR and Kerala which have traditionally been the best markets for the Bullet.

Gas shocks up front will be a first although I feel it is rear gas shocks that is highlighted in this case since the Std Bullets always had oil dampers.

Do correct me since I am assuming.

Nice color and design. I liked the large tank esp.

However the pillion handle doesnt go well with the overall design and neither does the rear tail lamp section.

I wonder the reason they didnt bring EFI in this model because there is another EFI model in the offering in the link below.

However i more kind of liked the 500 CC EFI model in terms of styling

The 500 EFI looks very close to the STD 350 with short handle ,original 350 Styling with SS and discs

Yeah, I like the larger tank too.

I'm wondering if the Bullet 500 EFI is the same one being sold overseas as the B5, see here in the RE USA site: http://www.enfieldmotorcycles.com/mo...lassic-b5.html Would be cool if it was made available in India as well, along with what RE sells overseas as the G5 Classic and G5 Deluxe.

Back to the new Bullet 500 carb'd model, looks like us folks in the eastern part of the country will have to wait a bit before this model is available over here.

No surprise there. The craze for bullet specifically (no other model) is just unbelievable in Punjab. Old ones are fetching upwards of 1 Lakh bucks these days!

Although the 500 CC one hadn't found many takers previously mainly due to it's pathetic FE. Quite possible that this one might do well if it's as well sorted out as the recent models.
The look anyway has a cult following.

Re: Royal Enfield Bullet 500 - NEW model coming. EDIT : Launched @ 1.53 Lakhs

Glad to see they've reverted back to the 19" wheels after the handling and cornering fiasco of the 18" bobbits, but disappointed to see that the domestic model STILL gets a dummy, unnecessary, 2nd spark plug in place of an oxygen sensor. A second plug running off the same alternator will not solve rich-fueling conditions.

Love everything about it. The colour, the price. But it has a carburettor instead of the Keihen fuel injection system used on all other 500cc engines.

IMO, it reduces reliability and seems to be an unnecessary move by RE. EFI with the same colour and other specs would be better.

I am assuming they must have cut off around 30k on licensing and manufacturing costs by omitting the FI.

Rear wheel is not reverted to 19", it's 18" for 500. For 500 EFI it's 19".

The EFI is still on sale as Bullet 500 EFI
The new forest green carb version is just named as Bullet 500.
