For my 2013 Classic 350 service from Royal garage in Byatarayanapura near yelahanka after the ASC guys completely screwed up my bike . Boy oh boy am I happy , the bike is completely transformed and is as good as new. Completely satisfied by their service. Anyone in the vicinity can give them a try.

Does anybody know any place when I can paint a Royal Enfield TBTS in Kolkata ? Currently the bike is black, I want to paint the tank white and rest of the body Matt black.

I got my 2002 Electra repainted. Here is the before and after pictures. It costed me about 45k which I think is bit on the higher side.

Is it purely for repainting the bike or did you have some mechanical work done as well?
Boy, that is a lot of money even if it was including some mechanical work. That is like half of what the bike costed.

By and large it was repainting, buffing and nickelling.
In addition got the wiring changed, silencer, headlight changed , minor things like indicators, rear view mirrors, footstep, ladies handle etc etc. No mechanical work other than cleaning the carburettor and adjusting the timing.

Initial estimation was about 30k and finally forced to pay 45. I know I was fleeced by this guy but wanted to get my bull back which was lying with him for more than 2 months.

Positive side is that it looks brand new and I can see people turn their heads when I take it outside 😀

I have a '06 Electra and hence, the interest.
Had your bike gone through a revamp before as well?
It does not seem like a '02 Electra. The clutch cover seems like a more later model.
And why did you switch from the gas shocks at the rear?
Nonetheless, it looks awesome after the re-paint.

Are you sure it is 2002 Electra, looks more like a 2004.

No timing adjustment required on an Electra.

Mate like others here I too feel you have been robbed royally. 45K for just painting and rebuffing the chrome with other minor jobs involved is truly not justified. The most it would take according to me would be about 20K. If there were any mechanical work involved it would have gone to 30-35K max. Kindly ask all your friends and family to stay away from that mechanic in future. There is also a thread of TeamBHP about warning members as well as general public to stay away from such leeches, do post the details there.

Absolutely. I feel terribly bad that i had been so carefree and lazy as I wanted to just get this done somehow. It would be helpful if you could share the thread where i can post the details of the mechanic so that people will be aware of this robbery.

Mate although the oil filled rear shock ups which are on your bike right now will do the job but the former gas filled one would give you a supple ride. Also the gas filled rear shock ups are more expensive than the oil filled ones. It is always better to take a list of parts required to be replaced from the mechanic and get a quote from nearby RE spare parts dealer, this helps in getting a rough estimate as to how much one is going to spend. This helps us save money and buy genuine stuff ourselves.
I see no dedicated thread on TeamBHP about staying away from such crook mechanics, you can post your experience on this thread itself.

Lets give credit where it's due. To me, all the work done looks fantastic. The bike infact looks brand new in the after pics. So rest assured, the bike has been treated in a competent garage.

You can add a new thread under the "directory" section in t-bhp and add your feedback about this place. Just that, in the "dislikes" section, you need to add them as 'expensive' or 'dishonest' since you were ripped.

The advantage is, atleast people will know a good place exists (in terms of skills) but the knowledgeable will know how to handle the guy with your tip off. :)

Posting on this thread wouldn't highlight the place and will get lost after a couple of months; having a dedicated thread will serve for years to come.

Hi friends, waking up this old thread to get an updated status on reliable Bullet Mechanics in Bangalore. I checked in the Directory section and the thread there was way older that this.

I own a 2005 RE Electra which was extensively used until 2010. Since 2011, it is used sparingly even for city rides. I moved to Bangalore in 2014 and the usage dipped further. Now I plan to do some highway rides and want to get my bike worthy for the same. I have been servicing in the authorized showroom in Mahadevpura. They are good, but not the best. I need someone who is passionate and expert in dealing with Old vehicles and making it ghat eligible. There are couple of issues I need to address.

1. The vehicle is very happy and smooth if I maintain a speed of 60kmph. It is not feasible for me to maintain that speed on long highway runs. I would like to maintain atleast a speed of 80kmph. The issue is that as soon as I cross the 60kmph mark, the bike vibrates and becomes uncomfortable.
2. The second one is related to my horn. I use twin Roots vibrasonic horn (since 2004) and it needs to be serviced/tuned as well. None of the mechanics are ready to touch it and they say I need to take it to specialist. I know people in Chennai but not here in Bangalore.

I have recently moved to Noida. In Delhi I had a trusted mechanic, who i shall continue to go to for serious issues, but the distance makes it impractical for minor niggles/servicing/oil changes.

Can anyone recommend a trusted mechanic in Noida. I love my Machismo 500 with my life. So what i would value in the mechanic are his trustworthiness and knowledge. Any reccos will be welcome.

Can someone please suggest a reliable lathe in Pune. Need to rebore the cylinder of my std 350 CI.
