Yuppie! New Karizma on cards!!! EDIT- Now Launched !!

Some great news for the bike lovers.

Source-Auto bild magazine-July edition
As per the article a new zma is on the cards. The magazine has published a spy pic of the test mule. Some of the new features as per the magazine are-new front fairing and side and tail pieces,a hunk like rear mudguard along with a rear disc setup, rear gas shocks, though its not sure whether the new zma wud get a fuel injection.

The bike would though retain the touring stance.

That's good . They should have got mono multi link setup shock .It is a must need . Lets hope they do not do the sticker and panel job too , this time around , ZMA RR ! .They are facing the music with new 220 ,R15 and RTR 180 effect . Competition is welcome .

Cool! Any new stickering ? Any hinting on the price ? Launch dates ?
Full fairing gives rise to many questions. Oil cooled, FI etc.

You can see the fairing mounted RVM's, appears to be fully faired, rear disc, gas charged shocks. Hope the engine is a new block with good amount of torque and 20+bhp. This time, it will not be just a sticker job.

Also, see the touring stance, same as the current Zma.

why wont they ever change those pathetic rims to suit a wider profile tyre ? these rims are seriously not tyre friendly.

Only cosmetics?? Why not a twin?

Full fairing - could be liquid cooled?

Between all the ~220 options in the market, my money would go to a Honda-derived product anyday everyday. If the peace of mind of present Karizma is carried over, it will be a sweet bike.

Looks like its got a rear disc?? Or is it just the sprocket? I hope they are doing some serious stuff with the engine to warrant something like that.

If priced in line with the new Pulsar 220, people will opt for the full fairing Zma anytime. Many won't even mind a price difference of 5K (upwards). Lookwise, Zma kills the P220 with the shoddy out of place oversized semi fairing.

While owning a Hero Honda may have more peace of mind, I would still rate Bajaj higher than Hero Honda, simply because Bajaj has always been trying to improve on their quality and their offerings.

After breaking alliance with Honda, there has been almost no upgrade from Hero Honda other than jazzy stickers and fancy names. It still sells the same splendor, same CBZ and same Karizma as they were 8-10 years back, barring sticker job. On the contrary, Bajaj has improved tremendously over years. Of course, Bajaj is forced to be on its toes due to competition and not doing it for sake of customers, but the outcome is still good for the customers.

I'll not be surprised if Hero Honda dies natural death over next 10 years, unless they seriously come up with new offerings. So far, no steps seen in that direction.

Hero Honda is so good at changing the stickers and color schemes and calling them by Plus models and thats it.

hope they make amends this time and so some performance changes .

I guess you are terribly mistaken Karizma was launched in 2003 and the new CBZ came out in 2007. Does anyone have more info about the new Karizma?

Whatever Hero is doing, they are still on top as far as sales is concerned, as of now. They don't forsee stiff competition from anyone till, say, next 5 years. Then we can see some technical innovations.
If stickering jobs are selling, then so be it, is the mantra as of now.
Lets hope that this time there is something more than a stickering job and a wee bit more of technology. That would be a good start.

If the bike features technology upgrades like liquid cooling, FI, full fairinig, rear disc, projector lamps, etc, the price definitely would above 1 lac. But still, it sells.

Thats great news, but i am doubtful of their pricing. Expect it to be in between the Pulsar 220 and R15. Apache 180 should not be a competition.
