The new bike brings back the styling standard set by the Pulsar 200 and houses within itself the highly acclaimed 32mm venturi carbureted 220cc engine from the 2009 Pulsar 220 DTS-i. Doing duty as the front suspension are the 37mm telescopic forks mated to clip-on handle bars. This setup made the Pulsar 220 one of the lightest bikes when it came to steering in city traffic. With the bulky quarter fairing exchanged for a lighter bikini fairing from the old Pulsar 200, we expect the naked 220 to be an even better urban tool! The bike will also incorporate a rear disc brake assembly which essentially employs the same 230mm rotor that has been doing duty on the Pulsar 220 since its fuel injection days.

The naked bike will continue using the same 17” rims as the quarter faired version which means you still get the 90/90/R-17 and 120/80/R-17 tubeless MRF Zappers at the front and rear respectively. The new bike gets the all-black garnish for the engine, forks, swingarm, handlebars and the rear grabrails. The naked 220 will continue using the same rear fender as the bigger 220, though we would have loved it more had Bajaj incorporated the same floating tail assembly as on the Pulsar 135LS. The new bike uses the same exhaust canister as the defunct Pulsar 200 – thus maintaining its muscular character. The bike will hit Bajaj’s Pro Biking showrooms before the end of this month at a sticker price of Rs. 73,000. A 21PS naked street fighter at that kind of price sounds like an even bigger steal than the quarter faired Pulsar 220.

Looks more like a mod job on the P220. The new unfaired P220 is expected to have a Yamaha FZ-esque naked headlamp.

Cheers,

Jay

Nope. Its just a 200 with a 220 DTS-i engine, a rear disc brake and clip on handle bars.

Wonder when Bajaj is going to release the 240.

Looks like they increase in 20cc per bike.

Useless.

i don't think this is the new naked Pulsar 220 dtsi. the new one was planed with a new headlight, like the FZ with a magneto helmet cover, and bigger front fork.

this bike looks like a normal 220 dtsi with the front fixed fairing removed and filled a 200cc headlight. also mounted the tank front cover from a 200cc pulsar.

the new naked 220cc pulsar is going to be drastically different.

So the equation becomes.
P 200 looks = P 220 Looks.
I guess this one is for the ones
who turned away from the 220
coz of looks purely.

Sad...Even the bike looks no different.

Pulsars are going down the gradient now.

AWESOME deal! If I were in market looking for one, I would pick this eyes closed. 21PS / 220 cc naked bike @ 73K sounds like a steal. Also makes me feel that a lot of other bikes are grossly overpriced

There are people who would expect Ninja 250 performance and R1 handling for this price - But guys, just look at the value this bike brings to the table.

I am sorry to dissappoint both you guys but this were the bikes which are going to be sold. I got the confirmation from the showroom guys. It would around 3.5k cheaper than the faired version. I went there to service my 220 and saw these.

They are planning to bring back the FI quite soon in their next 250CC+ bike which they are planning to launch in around three months tentatively. That would be around 1l+ which would eat yamaha R15 for breakfast, lunch and dinner(atleast according to the showroom guys, but sadly they also didnt have any information how the bike is going to be styled and other tech specs)

Excuse me, i would like to clear your perceptions.

If you didnt know, all black 220 DTS-i's come with black grab rails and Clip-ons.

The same trend is carried onto the new version of the 220 DTS-i. That's it.
