Bullets are Bullets. Theres 'something' about them. I haven't been able to figure out what it is but it sure pulls all the right strings!
Avenger pretty much sells for this reason I guess, it comes close

Thank you for the best wishes.

And Thank you.

I weigh in at a measly 72 in comparison to the behemoth which weighs almost the same about the Jupiter.
I was less than 70 kgs when I bought a bullet. And I wasn't the tallest or very well built. My mechanic was probably just 60 kgs and couldn't get his legs to the road easily but rode a bullet like it was a moped and virtually did 180s on it!

Quote:
Why am I not buying a bullet then?
Simple. I am scared.
What for? The bullet is a mere 30 kgs of extra metal under you, over your new bike . Ride your Avenger like you're God this time but the next time around, bite the bullet!

Why NOT a Bullet!

Thanks for the kind, encouraging words Motorholic, here is why I don't want to buy a Bullet just yet.

Firsty, Bullet for me is :

And right now the Bullets that I can get are:

OR

Classic, you see, is like enjoying a horse ride, peace, calm, tranquility and just you. For me, it doesn't work. I want an elephant ride which I can enjoy with my pals!

The kind of people it appeals to, the pros of biking. I am just not there yet.

Coming to the ThunderBird. I have no reason to back my views but, it just doesn't have that 'Bullet' charm.

There is a 350 also on sale though, something UCE, which lacks the 'thump' that gave Bullet its name!! So, what's the point?

So that leaves me with just one option, used market. That is one place I don't want to go with ZERO knowledge about bikes. I hope to learn over the years. And when I am confident enough of owning one, I will Bite the Bullet. Untill then, Avenger it is.

All right, continuation of how I 'found' the Avenger.

Once you are sure of what you want it is easy to convince people.
And so I convinced my folks of how a bike is perfect for me at this point of time.

I strategically chose not to answer their questions like
Baarish mein kya karoge? [What happens it if rains?]
Tez dhoop mein? [What if its super hot afternoons?]
Sardi mein? [What if it gets chilly?]

and rather distracted them to other points. I have the answers, they are simple enough but can't disclose it to them

if its OFFICE >> HOME, who cares what it is!!
if its HOME >> OFFICE, gives you reason enough to grap a cup of coffee at CCD!!

With my family convinced, I slept peacefully. I was going to LIVE my dream at last. I was going to get an Avenger.
Next day, I am at the Pro-biking showroom and oogling at the squeaky clean Black Ninja!!. My cell beeps.

Where are you since the last 3 days?

I look at the sender and I know what it is. Damn!! How could I forget. How could I NOT remember I have a GF!!
The Ninja vanishes and I retreat to a lone corner of the showroom and call her up.

All this Avenger-mania since the past few days and I hadn't even messaged her, so engrossed I was in the Avenger. I dare not tell her the truth!!

Hi, actually I was . . .

[ After 10 mins and a nice story of how work was hectic and all ]

Anyways, get this, I am getting a bike.
Which one?

Haven't decided yet, you tell which one you like?
I don't know, Pulsars are good.

Hmmm, how about Avenger?
What? what is that?

A bike obviously, those, kinda low bikes, hmmm... (It is a tough job explaining the 'which one is it' ) wait, remember RHTDM? The one Maddy had!!
Oh, arn't those for short people? I mean the kinda bloke who wants to look cool and all, kinda wanna-be?? Movies is fine, but you gotta live with it in real life!!

There goes all my Feel Like God feeling!!

Are you out of your mind? Ever seen the Harleys? They have a cult following and are amongst the most popular bikes in the world..
The whole point . . . .

[ 10 minutes later ]

. . . and it is much more comfortable than your regular Pulsars.
Whatever, told your folks? They agreed?

Ya, and I thought of asking you too ( Thanks to your timely message :P)
Cool, buy then, ride safe. And stay away from whatever this thing is, cruiser and all. Get a regular Pulsar. It looks wayyyyy better!!!

ok, any particular color you like?
Blueee!!!

I like the red one more!! Looks awesome!!
Red?

Ya red,
Hmm, red is also nice, but seems too common!!

Haah!! Being unique on a 'Pulsar' ??

I'll get a red one.
Ok. red is good.

Cya!! Bye!!
Bye!!

Girls. How the hell can one not like a Harley man!!!
Anyways, I get up and start walking ( Her words still banging inside my head ). Door or counter? I get to the counter and book it.

I want a Red Avenger.
She wants Blue Pulsar.

Its for ME.
I want it.
Ok if she doesn't like it. Anyways she's not gonna be seeing it everyday. (She works in BLR)

So, what the heck!!

MORE LATER ...

Riding report!

Well for the last month that this bike has been with me, it has changed me quite a bit.

Now I look for the longer way to office, and a different longer way to get back home.
I feel hungry at mid-night and no near by places are good enough for me.
I drop and pick up my laundry after office or before office even though its the company laundry(within our campus)!!
The ricks don't bother me now, they are gone with the twist of my wrist anyways!!
The weather seems so much nicer!

I have already visited quite a few places I wouldn't have if I didn't have this cool-blue ride of mine!!

The ride experience so far has been real goood!! The only sad part being, everytime I start to enjoy the ride, I am well past the 50kmph mark so let it ease off a little. The thought that keeps me going is I can do 50 and more after just about 200 more kms!! hehehe!!

Now some issues, after all nothings all rosy in this world.

The fuel meter fogged up when it rained, got it checked, no spare for now, job card opened, will be replaced next week.
That is it. [Grinning again, used up my 2 per post!!]

Seriously guys, I am on cloud nine or if there is any above that, on that one.
This bike has made me a kid again!!! [Grinning ear to ear!!]

Awesome is the word. Love the Avenger to the bits. The blue looks cool too. My personal favourite would have been the purple shade that used to come in the Eliminator. Sad that Bajaj discontinued this shade. Have fun with your new machine. Drive safe.

I'll try to keep the thread up to date with my experiences, good or bad. i do hope its all good though!!

Have to buy a helmet soon. Before you guys bash me up, let me explain, i am using a friend's spare one. I want to buy one now.

People praise studds no end, is it that good??
From the studds, i like the open face ones, but thinking about the level of protection, mind says to go for a covered one.

Need your advices guys.
