Yes it has a brand new Bore kit.(SGP piston & rings)
Now for the RX carb, I am all ears..however i have a plan to plonk in a Pwk 28 carb.
Do post some pics of your bike
I guess PWK 28 is good too, AFAIK RXZ got a bigger carb than the shoguns stock ones & you could set it up on the bike, along with a decent porting job, to utilise the potential.I will pm you contacts who can give you some good tech tips on how it could be done. Also, you had mentioned Chinoys CDI kit upgrade, does he make cdis for shogun?or you need modifications to accomodate it?

Shogun has a 20mm Mikuni carb as defaultRXZ i think has a 24mm carb as default, not sure. may need some Yamaha expert's opinion here.

Regarding the CDI, he doesnt make it for the shogun, but you can shoehorn a a cdi kit for the rx on the gun, there is a pictorial guide on how to shoe horn it.
heres a link for the instalation guide on RD Dreams.

My CDI kit shoe honing has started & I expect the magento to be complete by the next weekend.

Your shogun looks good, but why a round headlamp ? the original ones look classy...

kicha your bike looks neat and that chrome around the headlamp is sticking out like a sore thumb. No offense, try and get the chrome ring replaced with something fully black. This bike was a real show stopper back in those days.

OT : Your location says " 18° 55' N, 72° 54' E " , Mumbai would have been much easier for us to understand .

Interesting, thanks for the link, let me know how the bike performs once the kit is set up.
Yeah , have the original faring with me, but planning to fit it on my 2001 cat-con model shogun.

@rjstyles69- Yes i agree with you on the headlight chrome ring, planning to get it converetd to into black, once I give the bike for repainting.

Note from Mod: There are several spelling & grammatical errors in your posts. This negatively affects the board experience for other readers.

Kindly ensure that you proof-read your posts prior to submission. Also, it would be a good idea to use spell-checkers.

I too was once a proud owner of the mighty Shogun, 1996 model. Sold in 2002(very foolishly). But still that glorious exhaust note is in my ears.Alas! The days of such adrenalin pumping two strokes are over. After the Shogun, I owned 2 bikes, a Caliber and now a Unicorn but both failed to evoke the emotion of the Shogun.

Awesome resurrection

Great work both of you in keeping that brute alive. Never got to own it but I still remember riding it (was a friend's). The worse (better!) part was that the bike had next to no braking
I also remember him leaving behind the then-newly-launched CBZ in a cloud of 2-stroke exhaust.
Ah! Now I will spend some time fondly re-living those days in my head.

Shogun was a symbol of raw power.I remember riding once in 90s and was amazed to see its power and sling shot acceleration.
Good to see your ownership chronicle.

What are the options to replace the rear shocks??
I own a 1997 Suzuki Samurai and need to replace them.
Should I go for stock, or the hero hunk's or any other options?

The hunk's shocks and victors swing arm are the perfect substitute. The stock shocks are average, and best for some hair raising mid corner adventure

Guys,

Do any body know of 16 bhp Shogun, the original was 14 bhp but later another model came up with 16 bhp by way of Expansion Chamber (Free floe exhaust).
