Re: Royal Enfield Bobber Home Project - Advice Needed

Hello Thread! A lot has happened since March 2011 .
I have moved to Dubai and was busy settling down, hence the lack of updates.

Well, since I was out of town, my mod-mechanic guy is kinda on slack-mode but I made sure most of the work was done before I left. I will be visiting again later this month to see how its going, or else will take it home, and then bring it to Dubai after I get a motorcycle license here, and continue the paint work here.

@NDMS Pranav: Sorry for the late reply. Here is a small illustration that could help explain the process.

@ jocreative, credits to Springer front for the distinct looks.
Imo, the down tube may be bought back to stock stance or a wide mount plates be used & also a different exhaust pipe to go with new looks.

Thanks Rennjit. I love how the springer gives it a unique look.

Silly question: What do you mean by down tube?

Regarding the exhaust, I wanted to have double exhaust with a straight tube design but this is what the modders ended up with . I guess I will have to wait and see how it sounds.

Re: Bobber Home Project

@ jocreative: down tube is item you marked #2 in post #76 pic. Imo a Uce exhaust pipe (not silencer) may look good than stock long bend pipe here.

Ah. I have seen those exhausts on other custom bullets. Not a big fan of those.

The plates cannot get any wider, but maybe you meant a different shape so that it doesn't stick out or give the overall bike a good shape. It looks fine to me. I just hope all the custom parts are sturdily fit and can handle some rough wind.

Re: Royal Enfield Bobber Home Project - Advice Needed

hey jocreative,

Awesome project.

Love the front shocks - looks awesome. Big Thumbs up for it.

But your rear mudguard needs to be much much shorter.

Also for the seat i would recommend a old school seat (just the seat and springs visible - no foam)

The exhaust too if you can get it upswept will look awesome.

cheers,
ac

Awesome, mouth watering!! Apologies for waking this thread up but what is the status now, how far has it progressed?
Fully done up would be quite a sight.

Re: Royal Enfield Bobber Home Project - Advice Needed

Hey Congentr, Sadly the project hasn't moved much since March last year.
I had to move to Dubai, and no body was there to monitor the people working on this so they had a great time slacking!

The current progress is that they are getting the wiring and other stuff done. I am just doing a basic paint job and trying to get it in running condition for now. I hope there is no damage on the tires for being idle for so long.

I would love to bring it to Dubai where I could do further mods and a better paint job.

Front tire looks fine. What's wrong? They did reduce the mudguards size a bit more.
The spokes were done by a local spoke expert in Trivandrum. He has modified his bullet to have 80+ spokes too. Looks awesome. Costs around Rs 2-3000 if you want to get it done quickly and keep him motivated.

David the tyre is fitted correctly!

The front tyre always have reverse tread.

So if you are using rear tyre on the front , you should fit it in reverse direction.

BTW jocreative you are doing a fantastic job .

Nikhil
