TA = Traffic Announcements. See this link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Traffic...o_data_systems)

I've not pushed it yet, will try it tomorrow morning to see if/how it works in India.

The problem is nothing happens. Just TA gets highlighted in central screen on the right side. Maybe the TA services are not there in India.

Guys, anyone got Petrol ES delivery? I lodged a complaint with Ford India about the delay. Had booked 1.5P on 19th July at Tristar Vizag. Got a call from Ford yesterday asking me to share the booking details and was told that Petrol variant deliveries have also started and they would prioritize my delivery.

As Arun rightly pointed out, TA is for Traffic Announcement. In European countries, over conventional FM, small amount of digital information is embedded. The system is called RDS (RBDS in US).
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radio_Data_System

TA is one of the components of RDS system, where Traffic Update is periodically broadcast in a particular frequency (for a minute or so). The radio does a background scan to maintain a list of the stations capable of broadcasting Traffic announcement. If TA is enabled(TA telltale light on the MFD glowing), whenever a Traffic Anouncement commences, the radio would stack/pause the current source (USB, BTAudio, CD) and play the
Traffic Announcement and go back to the stacked source once the Announcement is over.

In India, we do not have any stations broadcasting TA. Hence, turning on TA will not have any effect other than the MFD telltale glowing.

An interesting observation. I was going through the Europe Spec Manual for EcoSport and found mentioned that Water Fording Capability to be 200 MM or 8 Inches. (Page No.114)

So is it that India spec EcoSport only has that SUV shaming 550 mm water fordability or it is a fake??? Only a marketing Gimmick???

Planning to give the vehicle for the 2nd service tomorrow
After 10000 km on the odo, I'm a happy man.No major issues so far.
(there's a small rattle from the left door which I hope to get fixed )

About the FE,the average shown in the MID now is 18.5 km/L .(it's for the whole 10000 km . I haven't reset it so far.) It had gone up till 19.3 , but with some spirited driving and big traffic blocks it has come down a bit) .With tank to tank method and driving long stretches without much breaks in between ,I've got FE more than 30 km on more than 3 occasions.

I shall update after the service is over

Hi. Did your FE improve after first service? My FE is hovering at 15 be it city or highways or Sedate or spirited driving .

Could the remaining 350mm in India be the pothole beneath the road level ? :-) just kidding ;-)

Have been looking at the Ford India website and came across this. I'm not sure how far Ford is upto it when it comes to ES.. stupid:

This is obviously for delivery after service :-) Not for new cars. And this is also obviously an international "delivery promise" template imported into Ford India to please the global bosses/policymakers.

Hey pkk_84, this pledge pertains to delivery after vehicle servicing at workshop and not to delivery of new vehicle. In any case, Ford has come clean by blaming it all on dealers.

Congrats.
How many days did it take from being allocated to taking delivery ?
