Is there a possibility that Maruti might discontinue the 1.6? Reasons for query? 1. Very low volumes of 1.6 selling in s cross. 2. Rumours of Suzuki developing their 1.5. 3. Quite a few unsold 1.6 lying in the inventories of the dealers. Most are July and August make and couple of September ones. 4. Dealers are too keen to make a sale. I doubt they'll pull the 1.6 out of the market, they'll reduce the production. Resale value might be low, but just enjoy the car for a long time. Regarding spares: You may end up waiting for a few parts, but they'll generally be in stock I think. The XUV 500 is really VFM, couldn't have come at a better time. What are the reasons for rejecting Creta? |

If you like the car and plan to keep it for more than 5 years and aren't worried about the resale value, go for it, however bargain hard and ensure you get a good deal, else move on and search for another car that suits your requirements. |

Had a look at the creta. Good car, but extremely long waiting periods, 6-7 months apparently. I like the car, but usually change cars around 4 years or around 80-90k km. Don't really bother about the resale, but ride quality, service and availability of spares are a huge huge requirement for me. Am talking about the discounts. Have been offered 1L on any variant of the 1.6. All sept manufactured though. |

5 people + luggage on highway (ACC on) - 23kmpl + with speed within 100kmph. The more you accelerate, the less will be the mileage. For city driving in bangalore, it's linear with minimal turbo lag. Although it's not strained with heavy load, it will take some time to catch that speed if you are concerned about KMPL. Otherwise keep the RPM above 2000 and the sluggishness will evaporate with some hit on the mileage(read around 15 kmpl). I guess with a car above 1200kgs you will be happy to get 15/20 kmpl in city/highway respectively. Currently I am getting around 17kmpl in city traffic and never got below 22kmpl on highway even with heavy load. The best I managed on highway was 29.7 kmpl+ for 200 km of sedate driving with speed limiting 90kmpl. After that I lost patience and ended the 360km trip with 27kmpl. On a whole 1.3 is not performance oriented, but will keep you happy with mileage and comfort. |

Well thank you, my question was related to performance rather than FE. For a car this big and with that 1.3 engine, just wanted to understand if it struggles in case we want to do some spirited driving either in the city or highway with load. |

Very basic question guys What is the service interval for S-Cross? Is it different for 1.3 and 1.6? I thought it is 5000 kms. Can owners confirm? |

Yes, it sold 2222 units ( factory to dealer dispatches). I guess, either some of the production has been diverted to Baleno, or the S-Cross is really on a downfall. |
