The stance appears so much better with those sporty 15" alloys and wider tyres. Any idea about the other changes?
Note the honeycomb grill, darkened headlights, chrome/steel side skirts, chromed bumper guard, black roof, black ORVMs, black side indicator caps and ofcourse the black 15" alloys.
Just hope that this not an aftermarket makeover lookalike.
A few more...
They are calling it the "Sports Pack" and say "it's got new sporty suspension"!!

It does looks good with all the exterior changes. I really hope they had done some interior changes as well to make it more lively.
Why Figo/Aspire Diesel don't sell like hot cakes is still a mystery for me, they have everything needed in a good car.

I had a look at the same car today at Cauvery Ford's Kottara showroom whose photos were posted by Samaspire.
The Sports Edition is available in both petrol and diesel in the Titanium trim only. No sports edition in the higher Titanium+ trim
The changes in the interior include:
1. Aspire's Piano black finish on the steering wheel insert, door pad insert and central console that houses the audio system (silver finish in the regular Figo)
2. Full Leather wrap on the steering with red stitching. However I found the leather to a bit thin and of inferior quality compared to the leather wraps on Hyundai's steering wheels. Stitching too looked like an after market job.
3. The gearbox leather cover has red stitching.
4. Seats too have a very light and barely noticeable red border stitching.
No adjustable rear seat headrests. There are Silver coloured stickers on the door and rear bumper(not to be mistaken for chrome rub rails)
195/55 R15 tyres on 15" Alloys .

Could this mean Ford will now allow aftermarket alloy/tire upsize without threatening to void warranty?
Would anyone know if the Sport version is available on the automatic?

No it is not available - going by the reports online.
This makes the Figo look far more premium and sporty - something that the powerful diesel engine always deserved. Any pictures of the Aspire sports pack yet?
Good move by ford :thumbs up ... 15 inch wheels would do justice to the the awesome diesel engine this car has.
I somehow like the regular front grill compared to the honeycomb one. I am not sure how this grill looks on car with different exterior colors.
Hope the petrol sports version is offered with atleast the 1.5 petrol with manual as a surprise. It can definitely be priced lesser than the DCT and should be fun to drive.
A comparison of the blackened headlamps with the regular ones.

This seems to be same as the sport version launched last year in Brazil.
Exactly what i have in mind as upgrades for my Figo Diesel. :/I had upgraded the alloy on delivery itself. However, the grill and headlight seemed to be difficult to procure until now. :) Hoping that i can get these parts now for much less rate in open market.
Overall, sportz edition looks good. They should've upgraded to touch screen as well. (Almost every one else in the segment does.)
Autocar India news section specifically mentions a stiffer suspension setup, a la Fiesta S of yore.

Guess, the proof of the pudding is in the eating and we'll have to wait for the first drive reports to trickle in before knowing the reality.

The Figo Sport hatchback will get smoked out headlights, new Piano black mesh grille at the front, new 15inch black alloy wheels, black roof and black ORVMs. The large rear spoiler and decals with S emblem on the side door adds to the sporty quotient. The rear bumpers too get some decal treatment.
The Sport rides on larger 15inch 195/55 inch tyres.
The launch of the new version will be announced very soon and the company will mostly likely charge a premium of Rs. 25-30K premium.

If it has some mechanical changes (ala stiffer suspension), why not offer it on the range topping Titanium+?!! Not the 15" alloy wheels + tyres either?!! Don't make any sense to me. On the other hand, if its indeed there; I'd happily do a swap the suspension for the sportier one, if I buy the car! I hope God Almighty don't tempt me any time soon (till Nexon launch)!!
Autocar website says the 1.5l petrol motor won't be available with the sports model , a measure to keep costs in check & keep actual performance out of the picture ? Is this true , can any expert confirm this news .
