You might but it might be difficult to get a good fit. And plus given the fact that the skirts decrease the clearance the holes might not align up. Doesn't hurt to give it a try perhaps. The issue is with the extension if the flaps backwards.

I had ordered the front flexible mudflaps from UK but boy with the shipping and duty they turned out quite expensive. Bordering 10k. Seems ludicrous for a set of humble mudflaps. Excellent fit though with great installation instructions and all the required screws and tabs. Will post details of the installation when I get them on.

However why Maruti cannot provide these for us here really baffles me.

Drive on,
Shibu.

Abarth vs Baleno RS drag race. No surprises here, but commendable none the less.

Thanks for sharing this, quite a convincing win that for the Abarth. Though I used to own a Punto, still cannot wrap my head around the fact that the Baleno is close to 250 kilos lighter. That akin to carrying 3 to 4 passengers.

Rumour: Maruti Baleno RS Facelift to cost Rs. 8.76 lakh

Maruti Suzuki has released an image of the updated Baleno RS on its website. Like the standard Baleno, the new RS version gets cosmetic updates. According to a media report, it could be priced at Rs. 8.76 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The new Baleno RS gets a redesigned grille with a chrome strip and projector headlamps with DRLs. The car gets a new front bumper with a wide air dam which has a hexagonal mesh design and a bar finished in piano black. The RS also gets a chin spoiler and side skirts with a gunmetal finish. The hatchback comes with blacked out A and B-pillars and ORVMs with integrated turn signals.

On the inside, the Baleno RS could receive minor changes including an updated touchscreen infotainment system.

Mechanically, the new Baleno RS is likely to be identical to the outgoing model. It is expected to be powered by the 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine which produces 101 BHP @ 5,500 rpm and 150 Nm @ 1,700-4,500 rpm. It could be offered with a 5-speed manual transmission.

Any news on different alloy design for the RS variant?

Also, Maruti could utilize this opportunity to offer body colour door handles and blackened boot lid spoiler in the RS variant.

All New 2019 Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS reaches showrooms

Just like the regular 2019 Maruti Suzuki Baleno, the RS variant only gets visual changes and it remains identical to the pre-facelift vehicle mechanically.

The 2019 Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS is priced at Rs. 8.76 lakh, which is around Rs. 29,000 more expensive than the previous version of the hatchback.

The new version of the Baleno RS gets new bumpers at the front and rear, a new 3D grille and new alloy wheels. On the inside, the colour scheme of the dashboard remains unchanged but it now gets the new Smart Studio infotainment system.

Re: Maruti Baleno RS : Official Review

The front fog lamp housing on the new Baleno RS made me remember a terrific front wheel drive car, the Civic Type R.

Note : please don’t misunderstand me, it was just about the front fog lamp housing. The Baleno RS as a whole does not excite me, NEVER.

So it seems that the alloy differentiation is also gone? RIP full black alloys? Another "chindigiri" (meagre attitude) from Maruti.

They've at least kept the red shade for the RS. The regular Baleno now gets the maroon-ish 'Phoenix Red'.

Phoenix red with black alloys would have looked super IMHO, phoenix red is a more brighter kind of red.

Like my reds scarlet personally (saw both side-by-side yesterday), but the pre-facelift Ciaz multi-spoke alloy design in dark gun metal finish would probably look pretty classy on the Baleno.

The alloy design on the facelift is bleh.

Re: Maruti Baleno RS : Official Review

In continuation of my purchase : link here -- > https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/offic...ml#post4402423 (Maruti Baleno RS : Official Review) , I completed one year and 10k kms.

As usual there was this confusion about engine oil and filter, they simply do not have 5W40 oil which is the recommended one. In spite of showing the manual they pleaded helplessness. The service guy even called up other garages but everywhere else they claimed they are using the 0W40 oil only (this in Mumbai). If Maruti cannot provide clarity to its so called Nexa (special) customer and that too for its costliest hatch, that is quiet an indifferent and cavalier attitude. Finally settled for synthetic 0W40.

After the oil change there is a marked improvement in smoothness of the engine. I believe for a three cyl engine 10k is too long.

Following are my observation after a year of driving:

1. The engine is peppy, no doubt about it. Even in 5th gear it has legs to accelerate, absolutely fun car to drive. However you have to know when the turbo kicks in at what point the car leaps forward, this comes only by experience.
2. The peppy engine is mated to the same old baleno transmission, Lazy maruti has not changed any gear ratios, this results in its own problems, more frequent gear changes, jerks and a lot of time getting used to.
3. There was a lot of talk in the forums about tata jtp rev limiter of 5.5k rpm. Baleno RS too has a rev limiter @6k rpm. The first time it was a very unpleasant experience.
4.This car does not inspire confidence round the bends, nor does the steering gives us any. I got the wheel balancing and alignment done in the third service. The service executive suggested not crossing the pressure of 29psi.

Additionally I have put TPMS and dash cam in my car.

Re: Maruti Baleno RS : Official Review

My father-in-law got a '18 model RS for a discount of almost 1.3 lakhs. I drove it for a short period of time and I was pleasantly surprised.
The difference in 1.2 Baleno and the RS is very evident. The throttle response and power can be felt as soon as you put your foot down.
I quite enjoyed the drive.

Just a slight correction, the recommend oil is 5W30 and not 5W40. I have taken my own oil during all my services. My service centre does not really have an issue as long as it is the recommended 5W30 grade. They just mention that the oil was provided by customer in the invoice. The service manager assured me that it will not have any issues with warranty etc. They obviously do not like the fact that I bring my own oil but I flat out told them that I am not happy with the oil they have and if they get something better, I will gladly use it.
