Hey guys, I own a red 2018 tiago jtp. Lovely car. Shame about the brand. My ordeal with Tata would require was essay that I plan on adding here but most of it was because I bought a demo car :(

I've been servicing my own car. I'm used to it from my days in Germany so I'm doing a pretty good job. I didn't get an owner's manual though and I'd find it very useful if you guys could point me to one. There's no digital copies online on Tata website. Also a repair manual would be invaluable.

I've also blacked out the chrome emblems except for the jtp logo with plastidip

Yes. It does have a name: Medusa

Medusa! If looks could kill ;)

As for the owner's manual, we've got you covered buddy. I am unable to send you a PM though. Get in touch.

I'm unable to send messages right now. My account is probably restricted. I'll reach out as soon as I can. Thank you very much for the super quick reply @vik99 :Cheering:

How disheartening. Altroz JTP would have been fantastic. Not just looks but power to match.

The Altroz iTurbo, does the job without the JTP batching on it. Although, the motor churns out 4 horses and 10 Nm less than the Tiago JTP (of course the weight is a major factor here).

Is the Altroz i-Turbo a spiritual successor of The JTP?

Everyone was excited to see the launch of Altroz i-turbo. But does it keep the spirits of JTP?

As an owner of a Tiago JTP, I don't think so.

Recently my friend who was looking for Tiago JTP bought an Altroz i-Turbo. A few days ago he visited me and I drove the Altroz and it was fun to drive but not as exciting or powerful as the JTP. where Altroz excels in Driving dynamics and comfort. After driving the Altroz I gave my friend a good ride in the JTP and he was surprised by the pickup. He drove the JTP afterwards and told me that JTP feels quicker and he likes the sporty bits of the JTP. After the drive, we went to a location to take some pictures and here I am sharing some photos of Altroz And JTP which my friend took on his iPhone.

Your friend and his iPhone have done a smashing job with the pictures!

The Altroz looks sporty from the get go, especially the side profile. For it to have the go for all that show, I guess we'll have to wait for the Altroz EV.

That's a really well maintained Tiago JTP by the way, do share your car care routine ;)

Out and about over the Easter weekend, seen here with a Kiran Mk-I which is on display at Akkulam.

A performance hatch as your first personal car?

Well that's the question I was trying to answer after I came across a used Tiago JTP in cars24. I merely went to check out the car that was with the dealer and after the test drive I had made my decision. I will probably write a separate thread on my experience with cars24, however, in a nutshell, if you are careful and be cautious enough, it can be a smooth experience!

This car was almost 2yr old and was listed for little over 5.5L in Chennai. The car was in a decent shape and I had given it out for service in A.S.S immediately after possession. There were a few niggles, otherwise, was in a good shape.

We have an Alto and Ignis in our family and I must say Tiago JTP is an altogether different level. Switch on the sports mode and the car changes its character in a moment. City mode is what I am using otherwise and pretty happy with the performance.

First point of bother though (not that I am complaining) is the FE. Very sedate driving gives me a max of 12kmpl in city and 15kmpl in highway. Load the car with people or drive in sports mode - FE drops to 10 and 13 in city and highway respectively.

I was talking to the technician in the A.S.S and he too mentioned that JTP was disbanded because of the dismally low sales figures (apparently it was less than 20 from their showroom in the two years) and that inturn was because of the highly disappointing FE.

Second point I am worried about is the availability of A.S.S for JTP cars in Chennai. At present, Gurudev motors in Anna Nagar is the only authorised service station. That severely limits your options. Hopefully I don't feel the need to look else where for my service requirements.

Wish me more happy miles :)

You bet! Need a move on? All you need to do is downshift and disappear!

Do try staying within 2000RPM if you are after FE. This of course is easier said than done, given that there's a ton of fun to be had between 2500-3500RPM.

I have been getting my car serviced from a regular Tata Service Centre since day one. JTSV never got around to setting up shop in my city.

Enjoy your ride!

Yeah! That's me :)
Wish you had come over and said hi. I would have loved to have a conversation :)

Clicking a picture facing the light is usually not recommended, as it tends to have a silhouette effect and hides detail, end product often underwhelming.

Well, the little JTP begs to differ. :)

I saw a Tiago JTP for sale in cars24 (@ 6.1 lakhs).
I need opinion on whether it is a good buy or not. Not only about the price. Are there any concerns regarding service, parts availability? Any problems that I should know about?

I don’t know if this is the right place to post this. But I saw a JTP at a place where the traffic had come to a near standstill on a stretch near Mysore yesterday. I don’t know whether it was just a badge job plus exhaust tip job or whether it was an actual JTP. I couldn’t hear it on top of my Cooper’s growl.
But it made me think how sad it was that the JTP line has been discontinued and was never appreciated. It was abruptly choked off before it realised it’s full potential.

Got myself a pre-worshiped tigor JTP. Got one thing done from my bucket list:)
