There is no change in the 2023 models either, unless you are slightly tall and have long hands, the hand rest is not completely usable. The fact that they did not make it sliding, baffles me, since there is space available for it to slide forward, at least in the automatic.

Same is the case in the manual version too. The existing hand rest is a show piece only and can be used only for storage, doesn't provide any support to the person driving for resting the hand. There isnt any place to rest for the right hand too for the driving person. Bad ergonomics.

Plus 1 to this observation as well. Missed this in the various test drives, but on long drives, the gap between the seat at the door pad is so much that one cannot rest the hand and still hold the steering. I alternate between the hands whenever I need to rest one hand. Even with this much space, they could not solve the knee hitting the dash problem. Though I have a electric adjustment for the seat, I feel my dzire had better seating ergonomics than Harrier. rl:

Got a call from KHT Tata service center informing me that there is a recall for the MY2023 Harrier and Safari to replace the fuel pump. Anyone else received anything similar?

There are 3 things for which Tatas are contacting the owners individually based on the applicability.
1. Fuel pump
2. Gear box mount bolt
3. Engine mount C bolt.

Depending on whats applicable to the car on the basis on engine/chassis details, individual owners are being contacted. If during the regular service the job card pops up anyone of the 3 above, it is automatically being included.

I'm amazed that Tata still hasn't resolved it's poor fuel pump problems even after so many years and so many generation of products.
Search for "fuel pump" "Tata" key words and you'll find numerous issues in Zest, Tiago, Tigor etc. :Frustrati

I myself am on my 3rd fuel pump in my Zest petrol. Has been frustrating, to say the least :Frustrati

Their fuel pump supplier/vendor needs to be kicked out, pronto

Is it something we need to get it fixed asap or we can live with it for some months. I did not get any call yet so asking.

Did they mention if this is specifically for the Automatic or Manual one or was it applicable for both?

There was no specific mention of Manual or Automatic. They just informed me to come at the earliest to get the fuel pump replaced.

Couple of questions for Harrier owners:
1.During couple of recent drives, I noticed steering vibration and slight left pull at speeds closer to 100 kmph. First happened on the Hosur Road and heard from some folks that the surface of this road tends to do that, so left it there. Couple days ago I noticed a similar thing when driving on Tumkur road towards Kunigal (Mangalore highway). Is this the same known issue with the Harrier? What is the fix for this issue?

2.The recommended tyre pressure for my XZA+ #Dark edition's 18 inch tyres is 33psi and I feel it's a bit bouncy, anyone else experienced this ? My friend who drives a Hexa is asking me to try reducing to 32psi.

If a non-owner can try answer :) :

1. Swap the front wheels
2. 33 is only the recommended pressure. Nothing stops you from trying out 32. or 31. And 32 is only one psi less than 33. Give it a try.

1. Whenever I've faced a vibration or pull issue, a quick visit for alignment solves the problem. I do believe that the alignment gets messed up pretty easily though. For now, I've been going in for alignment every 5k and balancing every 10k.

2. Coming from a car with soft suspension, the Harrier has seemed bouncy to me since day one. It just doesn't agree with bad tar roads and especially concrete roads. I don't know whether it's the tyres or the suspension, but I don't like it one bit. Loves mud and village roads though. But the Mangalore highway is really nice and flat and I'm surprised that you faced issues there. Well laid out tarred expressways are a breeze. Reducing tyre pressure does help, but I believe that's not a real solution since you can feel the car dragging.

I think 33 psi is just perfect for the tyres on Harrier, never felt any bounciness though in the ride. If the tyre pressure when filing is ensured, then should not be an issue although many times I have found different pressures in tyres when filled at non regular bunks. I have N2 in the tyres FYI.

So I'm a part of a number of FB and telegram Harrier groups, and the amount of issues has floored me. Like all brands have issues, but they're known and same across all cars. Each Harrier owner seems to have a different issue. How's this possible? Is it a QC thing? Is this common across brands? I owned the i20 before this and 'car breaking down' never ever entered my mind.

+1. Our Punch behaves very differently to throttle inputs when fuel is less than 1/2 mark. And the fuel pump whine is very much audible at all times in the car irrespective of the quantity of fuel in the tank. Couldn't convince the service center that the fuel pump is faulty. :Frustrati
