Did you sort this? Is it a dying battery issue? Not sure if they are replaceable, you will have to get a new unit from Mahindra I guess.

Re: Mahindra Thar : Official Review

Looking for info on the Thar 4x4 ATs,

1. Does the Petrol behave better than the Diesel in terms of power and road manners when using the 20hp additional power?

2. I read about throttle enhancers for the Petrol which are okay but not a solution for more power, are there tuning boxes or remaps for both?

3. Does it make sense to buy the Diesel AT mainly because it’s better on mileage or the Petrol AT because it doesn’t have DPF regen issues?

4. Are there options to make the sound system better with the stock head unit?

We are a family of 2 (no elderly, no kids), and 90% of our running is within the city. I am not worried about mileage, but more about usability and the reduced space coming from a Scorpio. How much space is really available for luggage when you have 4 inside? I found the prev gen Scorpio's suspension manageable, is the Thar better or worse?
Yes, it can be a daily driver. Length wise it has a form factor of a hatch-back, so easy to navigate around. Of course it is wide, but the high seated driving stance makes it easy to push into narrow spaces, and drive in dense traffic. Space wise. There is minimal. The boot is tiny, and soft bags can be fitted in, but hard suit cases are difficult. We are a family of three. (Child is 7 years). So when we go on trips, we use small suitcases (those Swiss Army ones), and duffel bags, which we "throw" in the back, by pulling back the front passenger seat. So it is alright. The Thar is a bouncy ride. That is about it, for the suspension. No issue for the driver, since he/she is holding onto the steering.

You would need to get out and open it. I used to give the keys to the attendant. They broke the inside cap connected cable -- though that has nothing to do with the fuel lid opening from the inside or not.

They are perfect.

I have never engaged 4x4 even once. You will only regret, for not buying it. Not for missing out a feature.

Same!

Unless it is a tbhp member, for sure the 4x4 drive train has been misused. So would not go for a 4x4 pre owned.

While 32 psi/28 C is high pressure, 34psi/ 26 C is low Pressure.. as a result its throwing constant warning.

I've tried completely emptying and refilling with Nitrogen and also re-calibrating the TPMS, but to no respite
The psi readings are accurate compared to the filling machines, so they are reading the correct pressures.

Not sure what's the fix here. Any ideas?

My Thar doesn't show tyre pressure numbers for Spare tyre. It does show up for 4 tyres. Should I get it checked or is it normal?

make a duplicate key and hand it over to attendent for opening fuel lid. the duplicate key for fuel lid doesn't need any sensor or rfid, it is just a plain key, so just get a 100₹ duplicate made and keep it in your glove box

I was on the verge of getting a regular key cut for this very purpose. Then I had a premonition. A vision from a possible future. A nightmarish future where a careless pump attendant scratches the fuel tank lid as he tries to open it.

Getting out of the car to open the lid is the lesser evil, as far as I'm concerned.

The only other car in which I had to do this was a M800 that I had in my 20s and even then I would not hand the pump guys my key.

I never had to face this problem in 3+ years of implementing this solution. But if you have this issue then just wrap the fuel lid in PPF,

I think that is normal. It only shows the readings for the four active tires, but it does keep track of the fifth one too, and will give warning if the pressure goes too low.

Re: Mahindra Thar : Official Review

I wanted to know if a new/facelift version of 3-door Thar releasing in 2025? The dealer in Pune says they don't know, however some news websites have reported that it could be as soon as June 2025.

Re: Mahindra Thar : Official Review

Fellow Thar owners in Bangalore. If anyone has got a custom bumper installed and wants to dispose off the original bumper. Pls message me. Scouted on OLX but did not find anything in Bangalore.

I bought a used thar which has a custom front bumper but want to restore it back to the original, if possible. Like the stock look of the car (just with the modified grill). Hence this query.

Hope this is not in violation of the forum rules.

Re: Mahindra Thar : Official Review

I have booked a single owner, Black, June 2023 Petrol Automatic 4WD on Spinny. Price is 15.24 in Pune. A few questions to the experts:

1) Is this a good price? Seems like a great price to me but would appreciate some inputs.

2) The previous owner (I've spoken to him) has installed Cobra springs. I believe this gives a slight 1 inch lift to the front. Any feedback on Cobra springs and how the handling is for city/highway use?

3) The car is still in Mahindra warranty and I plan to get it checked there for a full inspection. Anything in particular that I should get checked?

4) How do I activate 4L and 4H when not on off road to check they engage ok?

I have spoken to the previous owner and he seems like a car guy who has taken care of it so I am tempted to go ahead with the deal, but would appreciate any insights from fellow members. Thanks!

Re: Mahindra Thar : Official Review

Any thoughts on whether the Thar Petrol AT is practical for a daily driver, approx 800km per month? What kind of mileage can I expect? I feel like I am done with Diesels but abysmal mileage of the Petrol does get me very slightly worried, or is it not really that bad?

If you're worried about fuel efficiency (nothing wrong with it), then the turbo petrol isn't for you. You can expect 8-9 kmpl in city and 12 kmpl on highways with a reasonably light foot.

Been driving a petrol AT 4x4 for almost two years now as my daily. I consistently get 9.6 to 9.8 kpl in city driving. The worst I have got till daye is 8.3. This is via the tankful to tankful method.

If those FE figures work for you then you can surely go for it. The mStallion engine is very refined and a fantastic engine.
