Re: 2021 Tata Safari Review Hello All,
Going through a very disappointing situation with my safari 2022 model with extended warranty. For a while I had issue with vehicle dragging towards right side. I thought will visit during regular major service which was due but had some time before and decided to get it rectified before instead of keeping it pending till the service due.
They took it as running complaint and did wheel alignment. I was sure it was not wheel alignment issue. They did wheel alignment and gave me the vehicle. I could not take it as the issue was not fixed and the vehicle now started dragging both left and right. They said, the tyres are worn out hence its dragging and asked me to change the tyres. I did not buy it. I told them I will change the tyres and if the issue still persist give me in writing that you will refund the tyre cost. That is when they asked for another day and decided after a day that they will replace the steering assembly. I was sure it wasn't the assembly. I specifically asked them to check for suspension. He said they verified suspension and everything around which is all good. steering assembly was replaced under warranty and the issue was still there but lot lesser than it was before. I thought its the issue we have to live with and took the vehicle any way. The service was due in a month and I had to give it for service to keep the warranty intact.
I gave the vehicle for major service. Between the repair and service I drove about 500Km. There were no complaints and was just regular service. I asked for same day delivery and I was given delivery the same day without wash(on my request).
But, there was this big but.. The SA identified a major suspension sound and were recording the details to claim warranty. I was little surprised, as I'm generally very sensitive to noise and slightest of a noise I would crib about it and get it rectify. I thought may be i missed noticing, must be during humps. I was appreciative of SA for voluntarily identifying it.
Part will take 4 days to come, I was asked to take the vehicle and come back. When I took the vehicle boss, the part wasnt mine. It was shaking and rattling at suspension like broken unit. It was late to drive back and give the vehicle back. I came back to service station next day and told him such noise is impossible to get un noticed. Something has happened at your service station. How can something that was no issue suddenly develop so much issue. Either the part was replaced or the vehicle was miss handled to develop a problem. How can I prove it though? They were taking light cos Its covered under warranty. What If I did not have extended warranty?
4 days passed and the part is still not arrived, I call them and tell them that the car is not drivable and help get the part ASAP. After a week I get a message from my SA that part has arrived and I can come. I went the next day and guess what, the part that arrived was given to another vehicle. I was furious and told them I'm not leaving without the car getting the issue fixed today. They arranged a part from other service station and finally got the part replaced. If they could arrange the same part in 1 hr from another service, why did I wait for 1 week?
When I accused of some play here, they said its not possible as the part is attached to a vehicle. If it is so, then how did they put the part that was for my vehicle was given to another ? Apparently its not tied to a charsi but its tied to model and year of manufacture. There is some miss management here and I had to go through this for no fault of mine.
I am not sure if there is anything I could have done to stop this from happening. Or I can prove my suspicion. But the fact remains, a 35K driven car which did get a full check up of suspension 500km before suddenly develops fault in service station does raise concern. |
