Thanks in advance
I can answer this question. Have chenged tyre from ecopia's to Continental UC6 SUV. They are much better then Bridgestone ecopia's in terms of comfort & wet grip. Faced a scary situation when overtaking a truck, but came out unscathed due to fantastic brakes/tyres. Its cheaper as well compared to Michelins.

I would really be interested in this one mod but don't know if that's technically possible. From the outside at least there doesn't seem to be any change in metal panels - exterior facelift is all about the front and rear bumpers. Is that doable?
I came across this video where someone has done this facelift work on their adventure edition . So this is surely doable, although I feel on this colour the original look was better.

In the full video he goes on to say that this has been done at a TATA workshop. If true, this is something I will be interested in down the line.

Not that I may have this issue with my Safari, I don't have this issue so far, but I noticed this earlier with one of the other cars in my garage. We had to do front discs skimming or replace both front brake discs to solve the problem.

Re: 2021 Tata Safari Review

I have the pre-facelift Safari. Drove in cruise mode extensively on Mumbai - Pune stretch yesterday.

I find that when the car has to control the speed, such as on a downward slope, a periodic khat - khat noise occurs as if something is stuck on the tire. It also gives a feel of being in a train compartment.

Initially I felt something is indeed stuck on the tires. Checked that, but that was not the case. Later on realized that this comes only in cruise mode, that, too, when the car is at the set speed and needs to decelerate to keep the speed from growing.

Has anyone faced this or something similar? Is this normal or should this be checked with service station?

Re: 2021 Tata Safari Review

I have driven mine in cruise control on this highway but not extensively as the traffic does not allow that except for few stretches. Did not come across any such noise, so it could be a car specific issue. Suggest to get it checked.

Never happened in my case, even though I have used the cruise control on roads/ highways only, not on hills. The closest simulation to your case would be driving down a flyover.

To be honest, my car has been boringly reliable till now, except the horn that I did not like & others won't hear. I did change the aftermarket ones twice, which was not the case with OEM which was good for entire life IMO.

Re: 2021 Tata Safari Review

Hi All,

I own a Aug 2023 Safari XZA+ Adventure Persona. At 15 months and 14k, no major issues so far (touchwood). Car has been running great and brings me a smile every time I drive her, park her and look back.

Recently ( last 2-3 weeks ) I am noticing a sudden shudder/vibration and noise (ddrrr..) when I take a right angled turn into my parking at very low speeds. I have observed this to be more prominent on right side turning but may be because that's my case majority of times. To give some better visualization, it is happening when I turn the steering by around by a quarter or more of a turn.

Anyone experienced same and if so, what was the cause and resolution? Should I be worried and take to service center.

TIA

It is not there in mine yet.
Again mine is June-2022 end (July-2022) registered XZA in Grey colour. Would advise you get wheels checked as well (apart from usual culprit the steering assembly).

Re: 2021 Tata Safari Review

Would like to share this incidence with a pre-facelift version of Tata Safari.

Today the car refused to start. The car was driven yesterday and most of the displays, locks etc were functioning correctly. So prima facie it did not look like a battery issue.

Called a service station and they said you'll have to get it towed to them. Called the breakdown service. They offered to try a jump start first.

The jump start indeed worked. The mechanic said his services are in demand due to onset of the winter.

Although the car started, the check engine light remained on in amber color. So took the car to the service station.

They cleared the event caused by battery discharge clearing the check-engine light. They said there are two possibilities:

1. Faulty battery. This is just about 1 year old and not expected to drain out like this. If this occurs again we'll get it replaced in the warranty. The warranty, they said, on battery is just 1.5 years. So we should not delay the replacement if this issue occurs again.

They said, to replace a battery in warranty takes a long time and you will need to keep the car at the service station for several days. On asking if they can give a spare battery in the interim the SA said he can't promise that.

This is Exide battery - first battery that came with the car 1 year back. (An aside: wonder why TML doesn't use Tata Green batteries.)

2. May be "something" remained "ON" draining the battery. It was clearly not the headlights. What else can keep consuming battery is unclear.

Views, either similar experiences that anyone may have faced or speculation about what might be happening are welcome.

Re: 2021 Tata Safari Review

@mayuresh, to my knowledge (and I have indeed tested it) the front most USB port is an 'always on' port. My car is also 15 months old by the way.

Just check if you left anything plugged into that one for long enough?

Any other accessories you have installed?

Am sure SA must have surely checked for any wiring cuts, rat damage already. So, I'd strike that off as a possibility.

There is a cable permanently connected to the port, but there was nothing attached to it. I have not installed any accessories.

No SA haven't checked it in detail. If this recurs I'll have to get this checked.

Re: 2021 Tata Safari Review

2023 Prefacelift Safari XZA+ Adventure

Today I got a TPMS alert for rear right tyre showing in Red at 31 PSI. Interestingly, the other rear tyre also was at 31 PSI but no error there

I checked the tyre physically and all looked good. Locked the car and again did the cycle with some time gap but error was still there. As there was nothing wrong physically, I drove off and after a while it showed 32 PSI and the error vanished.

Interesting this is not first time I had a 31 PSI pressure. I had been down to 30 or even 29 in past but then there was no error. I hope this was one of those random ones and does not recur. Fingers crossed.

Re: 2021 Tata Safari Review

@Rodie09 - TPMS random errors have occurred with me once or twice for no explanation. As you experienced those went away on own after some time/ kms of drive or restarting after a halt. Those can be confusing at the moment, but, quick check at a safe location & keeping a tab on such prompts can help, except for ruining the journey.

Accurate errors prompt popped up when the one of the tyres was damaged, punctured (couple of time) & overfilled. 30 psi is the minimum & 40 psi maximum beyond which the TPMS shows error reading on MID.

Technology can be a boon &/ or bane, but it's been more of a boon in my case.

I have Harrier, and my car battery was replaced three times within 18 months. They also shared a spare battery. Tata needs to change its vendor.
