Re: 2021 Tata Safari Review

Headlight upgrades are available as official accessories at the dealer showrooms. So, better to stick with them than going for a non Tata accessories. A warranty related dispute is best avoided.

I have 1 yr, 6000 km pre-facelift Safari. It has run into this error: "FCW-AEB System Failure. Please Contact Service Center".

Servicing is due this month. Is it alright to show that time or it's something that needs urgent attention? Have also asked Autopoint service station, Wakad, Pune. They said they will check and get back. Lady on TASS number says your vehicle must be towed but I didn't buy that as yet.

Sorry the photograph isn't clear, I have put up the text above.

For record, the warning went away on its own.

The service station advised to bring the car, but since the warning has gone and servicing is due in 2/3 weeks I'll show them at that time.

Strangely, for last several months, there was an amber spanner (service reminder) lurking in the top right corner. As this warning went away it took the spanner along with it!

Re: 2021 Tata Safari Review

Hello everyone, today while trying to unlock the car with the buttons on the key required a lot of effort, though the car unlocked. When I pressed the Start/Stop button, the MID started flashing the message "Key out of range". I guess the key fob's battery has gone kaput. Should I visit the ASC for this or just replace the battery from the outside?
Has this happened with any members?

Attachment 2648968

From Google, FCW is Forward Collision Warning and AEB is Autonomous Emergency Braking. Did the pre-facelift version had these features? Else, this could be just a mismatch in software version or a software bug.

With today's complex cars and keys, I would not take chance with a random vendor and would go to ASC instead. More so if the car is still under warranty.

Have you started the car by bringing the keyfob to the designated area (most likely steering column or near handbrake area)? Or has it gone completely kaput?

Just check the battery inside the fob and replace it with the same spec battery from the same company to be on the safer side. Not much of a job and even if you go to the ASC, the SA will just change the battery in front of you and won't bill for labour and all.

As a person who is currently exclusively going to authorised service centre, even I feel that changing the battery in the key fob shouldn't be a ASC visit. Changing the car battery maybe an issue in complicated modern cars, but changing the key fob battery is as simple as changing your TV remote battery.

Yes I kept the keyfob as close as possible to the steering column and even in the space just ahead of the gear lever, but the car didn't budge.

On Monday, to my surprise I gave it another try and the car started at once reading the key normally. Will keep a spare battery for the key just in case it were to happen again(hoping it doesn't happen obviously ).

Thank you for your inputs @DicKy and @Rodie09.

Re: 2021 Tata Safari Review

Hi All, It's been a little over a month when we brought a pre-owned 2021 Tata Safari XZA+ in the tropical mist color home. We owned hatchbacks earlier and as the kids grew the need for a larger vehicle started cropping up. Absolutely love the car, it just brings out a huge grin on my face with every drive, and yes makes me look back at it every time I park it.
Glad to have made this purchase and looking forward to many happy miles and memories with it.
Adding a couple of pictures of our beast.

Re: 2021 Tata Safari Review

Congrats @toppor on your pre-worshiped acquisition. That's an adventure edition in that lovely tropical mist color and need I say it looks stunning on Safari. With those dirty wheels it just looks so 'at home' in the fields. Beautiful pictures.

Happy mile munching in that beast.

Re: 2021 Tata Safari Review

Went ahead with your suggestion and upgraded the high beam as well as fog lights with Blaupunkt Velocity Power 110 W LED Lamp - H7 & Blaupunkt AM5000 H11 fog. Thank you!

Getting great results but, now the low beam projectors look way too weak.

For the headlights only upgrade the high beams to above LEDs around 50 watt.

The dealership would often claim loss of warranty but it can be contested if this is only plug & play & no wire cutting.

It probably occurred because something was blocking the front radar for Auto emergency braking. Most likely just dirt or a leaf or something. If it went away on its own it's not concerning. However, if it keeps reappearing, then a service visit is needed since it could be something else. Either way, the error would be logged in the car's computer and your dealer should be able to see it during servicing.

We usually replace the key fob batteries of our cars ourselves since it is a simple job. You can take it to the dealer but be prepared for an inflated quote.

Re: 2021 Tata Safari Review

I bought the Tata Safari KZR XZA+ Seven seater in August 2022.
At 29, 750kms now.
Largely trouble free so far.

I have a few questions:

1. When you are replacing the battery, which brand do you prefer / recommend? Would Amaro be a good option? What are the specifications for the battery.
2. How long does the stock Bridgestone Ecopia tyres last?
3. While replacing, if safety (grip, braking) is your priority, what are the options? Specifically, does changing to Michelin or Continental offer any added advantage?
4. Is the 'ConnectNext' app working for you? I am unable to connect the car for more than an year now. Considering uninstalling the app
5. What are the specifications for the front and rear windshield wipers for Safari?
6. Looks like the part around the gear shifter is made of white coloured plastic and was coated with a thin sheet of black plastic (sheet like) material. Part of it peeled off while 3M people did interior cleaning using preasurised air (please see the image). Has anyone else experienced this?

Thanks in advance

Re: 2021 Tata Safari Review

I think i have asked this question elsewhere earlier but asking again. Has anyone given a try to get the facelift front facia ( bumper) on the pre facelift model? I like the new tighter smarter face and beyond that I dont see much i crave for in my 2023 Safari adventure xza+.

I would really be interested in this one mod but don't know if that's technically possible. From the outside at least there doesn't seem to be any change in metal panels - exterior facelift is all about the front and rear bumpers. Is that doable?

Re: 2021 Tata Safari Review

I am considering changing the head lamps.
The specs of the LED light available with the service centre (in Kerala) is given below.

May I request feedback from anyone who has got this installed and used it?

One question in my mind is about visibility in rain and fog.
Is the LED light likely to significantly reduce visibility under rainy or foggy conditions compared to the (yellowish) halogen lamps?

Re: 2021 Tata Safari Review

Hello all,
I am getting the warning in my dashboard( image attached for reference). When I contacted the SA for the same, he told me to ignore this as a software glitch. upon checking the manual it is related to the Low oil pressure indicator but again SA told to ignore this.
Has anyone experienced the same?
