What is the puncture scenario with the Pirelli tyres? Being soft I would expect more prone to punctures on our roads.

When I switched, my MRFs had plenty of life left still, no loss in grip, etc. The only grouse was, getting frequent punctures, (not because of monsoon - this happened sometime in early June) and terrible road noise even on smoothest of tarmac.
Tyres became a bit noisy after 20K KMs. Had one puncture in past six months. Contemplating to keep these for 50K+ if puncture phenomenon didn't happen. However, with Skoda history of throwing warranty out of the window with slightest of mechanical modifications, I will go with Markus again keeping their past performance in mind.

You can email Škoda Customer Care and clarify if changing of tyre brand will have impact on warranty.

Done that, yet to receive any update from them.

Too early to say, been using only for about 2000 kms. I have been on a very bad patch of road, some standing water, I don't see any major issues with it. Plus, these tyres from Pirelli come with Auto Seal. So the tread area is puncture resistant, for example, if there is a nail impaled in the tread area, you just pull it out, and the gel coating inside the tyre will seal the puncture. So generally speaking, I am less worried about punctures now.

If you maintain the tyre spec, there shouldn't be any issue. AFAIK, Skoda doesn't even have spare Markus in stock. They'll probably offer you Bridgestone or Continentals (standard nowadays on Tiguan post Hankook discontinuation)

I don't know about the DCC, but read your warranty booklet, I read somewhere that the warranty on suspension bits is only limited to 15000 kms or 2 years, as this is considered a wear and tear item. But DCC module could still be covered.

Re: 2022 Skoda Kodiaq Facelift Review | 2.0L Petrol DSG

Question to the experts here.

• Is it necessary to stop the car in order to switch DCC modes?
• If not, will it cause any long term problems if I switch modes at say 60kmph.
• Are there any Dos/Donts in regard to DCC?

Gautham, no such requirements. Modes can be changed at any point of time and any speeds. We can go through the technicalities of it but you can simple look up in a Youtube search. Basically just the damping that is controlled electronically for the shock absorbers, putting it plainly.

EDIT: PRECAUTIONARY NOTE:

In the last two years during my visit to the service centre, I have seen at least 4 Kodiaq TSI, which were waiting for Engine Replacement. Yes, ENGINE REPLACEMENT not DSG replacement. I remember most of them had some cracks on the pistons due to carbon build up in the engine and obviously the engines seized. Only similarity between all of these cars, they all were using regular petrol and not 95 RON as recommended. The manual clearly states that this engine requires minimum 95 RON, and for the E20 cars, it mentions recommended as 98 RON with minimum 95 RON. Sadly 98 RON is not available in India, only XP100 and that too is not a recommended fuel to purchase and put in a car, its red dye has said to have bad effects on the pistons. But few people clearly ignore the minimum RON requirement as suggested in the manual, I mean what have you saved by saving 150 Rs. on a full tank of fuel? For all these cases, dealer is removing fuel from the tank and sending it for testing and analysis to Skoda HQ. I don't know exactly what are tests being performed, but I know the customers have had to haggle their way to an engine replacement FOC by Skoda, even though Skoda is not to be blamed here. My request to new buyers, please never put regular petrol in the car unless it is an emergency, and you can run the car till the nearest outlet selling XP 95 or Power 95.

Thanks for the horror story, don't need to wait for Conjuring 4.

I've have been putting XP95 from IOC and Shell(Not Power).

Do you recommend Shell Power?

Re: 2022 Skoda Kodiaq Facelift Review | 2.0L Petrol DSG

Last weekend I was interested to do a test drive of the Kodiaq. Kind of went in a merry go round. Called Raja Skoda in Electronic City and ORR Mahadevpura, TAFE in ORR HSR and Sarjapur. All of them very polite and were quick to arrange a callback and share the details and price list. But no one seems to have the TD car available. All of them said it is in their 'other ' showroom which was strange as I called most showrooms. Of course no one had a display car. Which is understandable.

All of them said they can arrange on a weekday at home. Have not tested that offer yet.

Any pointers on which showroom in Bangalore is best to reach out to for the Kodiaq?

I had a good experience with Raja Skoda ORR - Sathish ( sales advisor- +91 96200 18647) was very professional and helpful. Had originally booked with TAFE - HSR ( Sep’22), but as delivery was getting delayed, came to know someone who had booked there after me got their vehicle allotted and Raja Skoda informed they have a vehicle for delivery in 2 weeks, switched to Raja Skoda and took delivery in Feb’23. Service experience with Raja Skoda has been good ever since I met the AGM Mr.Pavan with an escalation for a warranty replacement of the puddle lamp.

TAFE HSR was professional in processing the refund of my booking amt., and the newly assigned sales advisor Mr. Kashivishwanath was very courteous and professional, apologized for the delay in delivery that prompted me to cancel with TAFE and take delivery from Raja - apparently the sales advisor who handled my booking had left TAFE and there was no aggressive follow up - which is a definite gap in the system.

I would steer away from Shell, XP95 is the only long term tried and tested and widely available fuel in the country with 95 octane number. Have used it in Kodiaq for 47000 kms, and Octavia for 50000 kms. I had issues in my Octavia when I was filling Shell V Power. As far as I am aware, V-Power is not 95 octane petrol. https://www.shell.in/motorists/shell...26%20standards.

What was their ODO if you can remember? I always questioned Skoda technicians when they say - "It will run on normal petrol sir, no need of special petrol." They don't understand that compression ratio is higher in 2.0 TSI than 1.0/1.5 TSI. Problem which might be delayed in them can present much earlier in 2.0 TSI. Did you saw same thing happened to any Superb/Octavia? Or if Audi A4/Q3 owners can be contacted. Is it related specific to Kodiaq TSI? - compression increased subtly for better torque generation?

Also, what is your status diagnosis?

Re: 2022 Skoda Kodiaq Facelift Review | 2.0L Petrol DSG

Hello people who purchased or purchasing extended 5th and 6th year warranty recently.

I want to check, what is the price quoted to you for the 5th and 6th year extended warranty by the dealer. My dealer has quoted me Rs 83,999 at the time of Kodiaq 2.0 TSI L & K purchase now, whereas the Skoda website shows Rs 68,999. Any idea what is the correct price.

Here is the Skoda Website link - https://www.skoda-auto.co.in/owners-...ended-warranty
