Re: 2022 Skoda Kodiaq Facelift Review | 2.0L Petrol DSG

FWIW, here is the info that I got from my service center.

- the supercare brochure covers multiple models, old and new.
- Older Kodiaq model (pre-facelift) use DQ500 gearbox that needs oil replacement every 60K kms.
- the facelift model uses DQ381 AWD gearbox that needs oil replacement every 120K kms.
- for the facelift model, SMP would not include DSG oil change.

Well this brings me to an abrupt block, don't know where do I go now to confirm it, should I go ahead and change the DSG oil now anyway? I am currently at about 52000 kms, so maximum by Jan 25 I should be at 60000 kms. SA did share screenshots which he isn't supposed to and asked me to refrain from circulating online.
There is a change in the interval. It used to be 60,000 km before but 381s after a specific year have a different gearbox code and different oil spec as well. This oil has the part number G 055 529 A2 and costs around 4.95k a litre.

Along with the filter, you are looking at around 35k worth of expense to change the DSG oil. However, the interval is now 1.2L km and not 60k km. Honestly, if you don't mind the cost I would change it between the 60-80k km range irrespective of what VW says. Especially if short drives and stop-go traffic driving is in excess.

I completely agree, I did the same even with my Octavia which apparently did not even have a prescribed oil change schedule. Having read online about this on Kodiaq forums, I am satisfied that 0GC DQ381 has an official service interval of 120K kms. Having said that, I consider 80K kms to be a relatively safer point to carry out the DSG service.

You're right. It's Skoda's mistake for creating these ambiguities. Their service calculator is very vague. I never heard DQ200 needing oil changes officially as a scheduled service item, but according to the calculator, Slavia and Kushaq both need it. Skoda should have just put an asterisk somewhere in the brochure saying the ATF change in SMP is not included for Kodiaq TSIs. On the topic of the service calculator, Octavia A8 and Superb B8 also have the same DQ381 transmissions, but none of their yearly service estimates mention DSG oil change. Now tell me that is not strange?

The looming question remains, Tiguan also has a DQ381 with the TSI, why does its scheduled inspection require DSG oil change at 60K kms? Can someone check with your trusted VW SA to put a known Tiguan VIN in ELSAPRO and check the official service frequency?

When I turn on navigation on Android Auto, cluster changes to a different one than what I prefer. Is there any way to disable this?

Rs 5L worth of benefits if booked today through the official website. It’s a sweet deal in my opinion.

Yes that's very weird for the same engine and same transmisson.
I got it checked for my Allspace and it's 60k in the ELSAPRO. But the interesting part is - it's every 60k kms for countries with hot climate, for USA it's every 80k miles i.e. 128k kms.

Seems to be a stock clearance exercise before the new gen Kodiaq hits our shores but an excellent opportunity for fence sitters nonetheless. I'd have picked it up at this price point for sure, if I were in the market for a European AWD SUV.

This ad popped up for me yesterday. Since I am one of those fence sitters, went to the book online link. Asked to select dealer in Bangalore and once I did, it showed up 2 white cars. Both were shown as 2023 VIN year and 2024 model year. Did say discounts upto 5 Lakhs with an Ex showroom of 40L. Was unclear if discounts have already been factored in. If not that would mean an on-road itself around the 40L mark which seems a sweet deal for the car.

I bailed out since I am still more on the side of ' wait for the new model and if priced out of budget, buy a pre-owned next year'. The 2023 VIN was also a put-off although I assume that is because it is a CKD

I have been following the discounts for Skoda since August. They did a 2.5L offer somewhere then and now a 5L offer. To clarify you, 5L less from 39.99L ex showroom, effective 35L. This was clear to me as the dealer confirmed it. But, for the whole day I contemplated and finally DID NOT pull the plug as I thought, though 5L seems attractive, the VIN is 23 and they are giving it out at the fag end of the lifecycle of this model and I wanted more like 8-10L considering a hefty 20% road tax in Chennai. It may seem greedy, but that was my expectation and did not go for it, as there is no pressing case for me. For some others, this might have been an wonderful offer for a fabulous car.

Good call, 2023 VIN means it has probably been sitting around for a long time. Since the new Gen is also going to be assembled in India from CKD kits, pricing should be reasonable. After several quarters of unreasonably high pricing sustained by market demand for luxury cars, automakers are finally coming around to a period of high discounts and more modest launch prices. The model on sale was originally launched worldwide in 2017 and has seen very few changes even during the mod-cycle facelift, so it is nearly 8 years old. Yes, it does look fresh as it i such a classy design, however, sooner rather than later, it is going to look a little dated, especially once the new generation is launched. The new gen will also get a more powerful tune of the 2.0 TSI and I am assuming it will also get mild-hybrid Tech. It is worth waiting for the new gen model launch as it is only a few more months away.

Re: 2022 Skoda Kodiaq Facelift Review | 2.0L Petrol DSG

Booked the Kodiaq L&K 5 days back. Dealer (Jagdish Skoda, Bhopal) had already offered 5L discount.
Ex showroom: Rs 35,00,000/-
2 year SMP included, after adding TCS, insurance, accessories, RTO charges (Indore), 5-6 year extended warranty; Total Cost on road coming to Rs 42,95,925/-

Yes it is the outgoing model, but the price was very tempting, especially since it was available at 49.5L till a month back in Indore. Also expect the ex-showroom price for the new model to be around 45L.

Thanks to all team-bhp members who convinced me to go for the 'value luxury' vehicle.

That’s a fantastic deal and I personally like the existing design over the upcoming model ( so far). You will enjoy your ride - this is coming from someone who paid 49.5 21 months back, and have not regretted my decision for even a moment during my ownership .

Re: 2022 Skoda Kodiaq Facelift Review | 2.0L Petrol DSG

Follow up to my last post about servicing.

Went to Aryaveer Skoda, Moti Nagar in Delhi for my first scheduled service at 14500 kms. The RM tried repeatedly to convince me to get my sunroof oiled - at an additional charge of Rs 2500, but I refused. It also wasn't mentioned in the servicing details mentioned on the website.

In the end I paid a similar amount as mentioned on the official website for the first service.

The RM tried to make me sign a document that mentioned I didn't get my sunroof oiled, -but I refused to sign it as I felt it was such a high-handed effort, and anyway, getting it oiled after just 11 months seemed like an overkill to me.

Anybody else faced the same while getting your car serviced?

Also - when do you guys suggest getting the sunroof oiled? Is that even required? I had used an aftermarked motherson sunroof in my getz, and then later on company fitted in i20 - never got those oiled and they worked fine.

Sounds like a fleecing tactic. Just a little WD40 every 6 months on the moving rails or very little quantity (so that it does not catch dirt) of white grease on the contact rails is what 1 ever used on my Superb's sunroof and it is working without issues since the last 12 years.

Cheers...

I used to have Honda City. Never ever oiled the Sunroof in the 10 years of it's existence. Never faced issue. Things to note - that I never drove it keeping the Sun roof open for a long time.
