This probably is true. In the accessories shop where I was getting my steering wheel wrapped, there was another guy who was struggling to get fog lamps installed in his 3X0.
When he contacted the service center he was told that his fog lamps needs to be unlocked and only then he can get his fog lamps installed properly. It must be same for Thar MX3. Mahindra quoted him 4000 for fog lamps installation.
It's better to wait. Hopefully fog lamps and the carplay update will come soon. |
Indeed this is the case. I have confirmed from service center accessories manager. The fog lamp switch working needs unlocking and wiring too. Mahindra have not left wires near the fog lamp harness in MX3.
Question to those who have cancelled their booking online - Did you get the refund to the same source and in how many days?
I requested for cancellation last week and the status is still showing "Cancellation initiated".

I had two bookings, cancelled one on 18th Nov and received an email from PayU on 28th Nov regarding Refund success.
Amount reflected on my card on 29th morning with date of refund mentioned as 28th Nov. So it took precisely 10 days to get my refund.

Things like this leave a bitter taste in my mouth when Manufacturer try controlling the vehicle and owner. They would most probably Leverage this when you go for extended warranty claims.
Such acts of subscription and locking features not in good spirit. Also why arent these topics covered in Reviews.
Time for IT hacks to be made available in Karol Bhag too.

I talked to service manager also, he too said that the switch has to be enabled/unlocked through software and wiring has to be done. But they still have not received the spare part fog lamp and training ppt for the wiring of the same.
Yes, there are no wires or termination points in MX3. Right now what I have done is that I have got connection from parking light through a relay. In this case fog lamps get turned on when we switch on park lights even when auxiliary light switch is in off position . |
So, you have installed the fog lights already? I thought you said the OEM fog lights are not available as a spare part yet. Did you take any pictures while this was being done? Curious to know how the fog lights are installed in the MX3 bumper and the wiring from aux lights. Did they have to remove the whole front bumper to do this for you?

Yes I have installed GTR Projector Fog Lamps. Original OEM not available yet with mahindra agency. Nor they have any information regarding their availability.
No the whole bumper was not removed. They removed the upper grey portion of the bumper above the number plate area and the plastic shield behind the fog lamp area too was removed without opening up entire bumper.
My Thar Roxx completed 3000kms and it's first service.
The major issue I faced was the closing of the front passenger door. We need to shut it with more force. Say double the force that we apply to close other doors. Quite an irritating thing.

Next time, keep one of the other doors or window open and close this particular door and see if it makes any difference. If it makes any difference, the reason is air pressure. I faced this issue in two of my cars and I fail to understand why this doesn't happen with drivers door as both front doors are of same size. The Brezza in our garage has this issue and we are used to it.

I have my tentative delivery date as 28 November 2024 to 28 December 2024. Thanks in advance. |
A rather unpleasant turn of events. I had emailed Mahindra Booking Support regarding an update on my delivery since the tentative delivery period has already started. They directed the email to Customer Care team along with sharing my OTF number. Customer Team then informed me that GM of my dealer will reach out to me to share an update regarding my delivery. I waited a day but no one reached out. I called my sales executive but he didn’t answer as usual. So I replied to the earlier trailing email that I was not contacted by anyone and asked for an update. The dealer’s CRM email ID gave a bounce back strangely.
Within 5 minutes, I got a call from the GM of the dealership and he enquired about my concern. When I asked him about delivery update he said that my car will be delivered by year-end next year. What a shock! I explained to him that I have SMS and email from Mahindra that my tentative delivery date is between 28/11 and 28/12. He said that might be due to error at Mahindra’s end but our system shows delivery date for your order to be year-end 2025 since your variant is not being manufactured by company as of now. I had booked AX7L D AT BTW which I know for a fact that are being delivered to people around me. So I asked him to share this on the trailing email to which he countered by asking me to share the email I had received from Mahindra. I agreed and disconnected the call. I replied to the trailing email explaining our conversation and attached the email I had received from Mahindra which mentioned my tentative delivery date. But by this time it was already past 7PM and I got an auto-reply from Customer Care team that they are offline now and will respond tomorrow. I escalated the email to CRM head at Mahindra too.
Let’s hope I get the car as promised by Mahindra and whatever the dealer is mentioning is just some misunderstanding. I fear the dealer might have allotted my car to someone else and now is hiding his face by this system error story. Hope to get some clarity tomorrow.
Whatever the outcome be, I am terribly upset by the experience since booking and feel like it’s a wrong decision to choose Mahindra. Transparency and timely communication has been lacking since I booked the car. I am sure expecting someone paying over Rs. 25 lakhs for a car to not feel this lost in the entire transaction is not unreasonable.

I am also in the same boat as you are. It feels like Mahindra dealers have resorted to their old ways and are allocating car to whoever agrees to all bloated insurance, accessories and any additional premium over the top.
I booked same variant as yours (AX7L D AT RWD in Everest White) from Neon Mahindra, Chandanagar dealership in Hyderabad. This first booking was successful by 3rd-October 11:05 AM. The tentative booking period as per email from Mahindra on 25th-October for my car was 10-November-2024 to 10-December-2024. I am at the tail end of my tentative booking period now.
Nobody from Neon Mahindra dealership has bothered to call me even once since the booking.
I had another booking with VVC and at least that salesperson called me on 27th October and has been in touch on and off.
Neon Mahindra dealership has the worst salesperson who lack any enthusiasm and have no clue about car features. The salesperson mentioned in booking docket does not answer my phone calls, the sales manager also does not answer, their email digitalhyd.neonmahindra at gmail has gone unanswered.
I do not recommend Neon Mahindra dealership to anyone now.
It is high time Mahindra takes action against these greedy and non-customer friendly dealerships.

It's really sad how Mahindra has been letting this happen for so long. There is no excuse for a company to have this level of incompetence especially in this day and age of IT systems and checks. Like I said, these frictions rob you of the excitement of getting a new vehicle.

Yes I am experiencing the same thing. Front passenger side door closes with some extra force. In 3 days, atleast 10 times we had to re-close the door multiple times before it actually closed properly.

Do you mind sharing which Dealership this is ? a PM would do if you do not wish to share on forum.

I am not allowed to send PMs just yet being a newbie. I had booked with Randhawa Motors, Mumbai.

Similar experience here and I had shared that earlier on the forum as well. The dealer Anant cars in Bangalore for instance gave me the same story of 72 weeks waiting, Mahindra restricting production due to year end and no info on delivery date etc etc. All this when my booking was completed before 11.01 am
So this looks like a city, dealer agnostic problem.
People who are lucky are able to get their cars on time, unlucky ones are at the mercy of Mahindra and their respective dealers.
